Job Description

Group Management Accountant - London OfficeThe Quantanite and Growthonics group is a multinational company headquartered in London providing business process outsourcing, lead generation and IT services. We have offices in the UK, Bangladesh, Johannesburg and the United States.This position’s primary duty and responsibility lie in the production of accurate and timely group financial reporting against plan, following head office guidelines, improving p&l and cash flow forecasting and developing the international group of companies’ internal systems of financial control.The position is based in London, working with the international finance team and the group’s senior management.The position will develop during the course of 2021, based on current sales growth expectations, with increasing responsibility and co-ordination of the broader finance functions.Key duties and responsibilitiesFunctional activities1) Review and delivery of monthly management accounts and forecasts of four entities, including the consolidation for management review of group financial results and position2) Reporting against budgets and prior year, by entity and consolidated3) Supporting management review of gross margins by customer, segment and region, highlighting variances, opportunities and risks4) Supporting purchasing and financial systems of control, providing insight and suggesting improvements to senior managers across the group5) Reporting and managing the group treasury position, identifying risk and significant foreign exchange exposure6) Overseeing bookkeeping and accounting function in each entity on an accruals basis7) Coaching international finance staff on day to day accounting procedures and month-end journals to ensure consistency of reporting across the group8) Reconciliation with local finance teams each month of all balance sheet control accounts, including trade debtors, prepayments, WIP, trade creditors, provisions, accruals, capitalisation and intercompany accounts9) Acting as the group liaison with management accountants / finance managers for off-shore group entities in Bangladesh, South Africa and USA10) Monitoring long term liabilities including loans and HMRC debt11) Supporting the preparation of group finance reports for the senior management team world-wide12) Overseeing the following recurring areas of responsibility:a) Prompt and accurate issue of sales invoices across business unitsb) Credit control function and achievement of debtor day targetsc) Bank transactions and reconciliations, and credit cardsd) Managing suppliers and trade creditors, and working within creditor day targetse) Management of HMRC accounts, coveringPAYE/NIC and VAT, negotiating time to pay arrangement with HMRC as appropriate and similar in each jurisdiction (USA, South Africa and Bangladesh)f) Ensuring smooth running of the UK monthly payroll and analysis of monthly payroll and departmental and expense line postingg) Supporting sales management in calculating commissions and bonusesh) Monthly accounting journals preparation: accruals, prepayments, commissions, stock, capital expenditure, depreciation, amortisation, tax provisionsi) Reconciliation of all non-key balance sheet accounts periodically13) Support the company secretarial function and filing the necessary forms online and at Companies House14) Organising world-wide insurance reviews15) Working with auditors when these are appointedUK responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Managing and/or performing bookkeeping and accounting function for the UK entity
  • Documenting financial transactions by entering account information into Xero, including monthly accounting journals preparation for accruals, prepayments, capital expenditure, depreciation, and tax provisions
  • Preparing and making payments by verifying documentation, and requesting disbursements including payroll
  • Candidate profile: professional qualificationsQualified accountant with strong technical skills and the ability to partner with commercial and operational stakeholders in a fast paced, growing SME international environmentCandidate profile: technical and commercial requirements
  • Must be a self-starter, with an exemplary can-do, problem-solving attitude
  • Proven experience and track record in similar role with over 5 years hands-on experience
  • Excellent organisational skills and ability to analyse data for better decision-making
  • A team player and excellent in communication across all levels of the organization
  • Develop pro-active relationships with other teams and managers
  • In depth knowledge of diverse business functions and principles
  • Working knowledge of data analysis, performance and operational metrics, such as profitability by business unit, project, revenue, region, sector and customer
  • Experience and knowledge across employment and corporation taxes within an international setting
  • Qualified or part-qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with solid technical skills and the ability to partner with commercial and operational stakeholders in a fast paced, growing SME international environment
  • Power user of Excel and PowerPoint, bonus to have experience of Xero accounting
  • Competent English language, written and spoken
