Job Description

Our client is a global energy & commodity trading group; recognized as one of the most exciting and commercially driven Commodity Trading houses in the industry!The successful candidate will work as part of the EMEA Settlements team within EMEA Financial Operations. The team is responsible for the settlement of OTC trades across a range of physical and financial commodities products as well as FX and Interest RateSwaps and for settling broker fees associated with an even wider net of trading desks.The successful candidate will be primarily responsible for the reconciliation and settlement of brokerage fees generated by the business across a range of products and geographical locations including power, gas, LNG, oil derivatives, petrochemicals, metals,emission allowances and voluntary carbon offsets.The successful candidate will have the opportunity to be involved in projects, process enhancements and cross training on some other functions as time allows. broader Financial Operations team and will play a key role in the day-to-day functions within theSettlements team, and be involved in a wide variety of projects and process enhancementsRESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Reconciliation of trades between broker invoices and internal systems
  • Processing settlements
  • Communication with brokers
  • Regular interaction with different teams internally including Accounts, Controllers, IT, Middle Office, Traders
  • Providing weekly updates to Management
  • Analysing and developing team procedures
  • Focusing on continuously improving processes, identifying, initiating and working through process enhancements
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
  • Educated to bachelors degree level, ideally in a numerate discipline; or equivalent/related experience.
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Good with handling large dataset
  • Demonstrate ownership and committed to seeing issues through until they are resolved
  • Demonstrate the ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Understanding commodities trades lifecycle
  • Strong grasp of operational risks
  • Good time management, and ability to prioritise effectively
  • Strong numerical skills
  • Strong MS Excel and system skills (familiarity with Openlink/Endur and/or ICTS is an advantage)
  • Experience in settlements is advantageous
