Role/ Department: Reporting to the Capital Markets CAO, this first line risk role within the Capital Markets business will manage the team responsible for identifying, measuring, and escalating key risks within the business. The Global Risk Manager will work with business unitstakeholders to mitigate the inherent risks by supporting the development of frameworks and enhanced standards. This role will include engagement with senior leaders within the business and supporting areas, collaboration with second line risk functions, andcommunication with regulators. . Therefore, excellent communication skills and knowledge of the Capital Markets business are essential. The key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Manage a global team of Risk specialists responsible for identifying changes to the risk profile of the business and escalating these changes accordingly
  • Foster an environment for open dialogue with business unit leaders serving as a trusted advisor on risk related issues
  • Provide a forum to review, advise, challenge, and document changes to the Capital Markets product offerings including new products, product enhancements and process changes
  • Oversee the ongoing management of the inherent risks identified through risk and control self-assessments.
  • Represent Capital Markets in Global Risk forums
  • Manage the relationship with the second line risk function
  • Serve as the business unit liaison for regulatory engagements
  • Align the Capital Markets Risk Management Framework with the evolving Enterprise Risk Management Framework
  • Engage with senior management on key initiatives
The successful candidate will benefit from having:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organization, attention to detail, time management, planning skills and the ability to handle multiple competing priorities
  • Ability to make independent decisions and also to be a team player and effective communicator to ensure that issues are appropriately resolved
  • Leadership and organizational skills to direct the activities for the multiple business units
  • Confidence and expertise to advise management and the business
  • A College or University degree is preferred
