Who were looking for Were looking for someone to join the London Portfolio Compliance Team as the Head of Portfolio Compliance Oversight Globally. The Portfolio Compliance Team is an essential part of the control environment, supporting Investment Teamsto ensure effective pre and post trade mandate restriction monitoring and coding. The Head of Portfolio Compliance Oversight will be responsible for directly managing the EMEA Oversight team, as well as having a global remit over the other Oversight Functionswith the purpose to align processes and create a cohesive global structure. Also to assist the Global Head with managing general team organisation, planning and directing a variety of projects to ensure that the outcomes are delivered to high quality. Overseeingand performing day to day on-boarding, control and monitoring activities. Interpreting and requesting rule coding / code rules in Aladdin; assisting Fund Managers with queries; and providing client sign off with regard to restrictions all to ensure a robustcontrol environment with good governance. Assisting with queries, escalating issues and coordinating delivery with other teams. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in this type of role, knowledge of the BlackRock Aladdin Platform would be beneficial.It is a role where attention to detail, time management and good communication skills are critical. The individual will work closely with members of the Portfolio Compliance Team and various other teams in the business including operations, transitions, clientservices and front office functions. Enthusiastic about improving processes, learning new skills and making a differenceto the teams we support.What youll do Create a good team culture managing a team with various experience and abilities, including coaching and mentoring of less experienced staff. Support to Global Head of Portfolio Compliance to deliver group initiatives.Lead by example in understanding the detail and being hands-on in tasks when required. Assist with and provide advice on internal team queries as required (both intraday and overnight). Oversee and perform day to day on-boarding and control activitiesto ensure a robust control environment. Steward processes and change documentation to ensure approvals, sign-offs and change control can be easily audited. Escalate and work with BRS to ensure resolution of any issues. Help to improve processes, streamlineactivity and update data within the compliance monitoring system used to monitor guidelines. Work closely with Fund Managers / Product / Client Executives to capture investment restrictions, resolve issues and provide information. Drive, direct and overseethe implementation of projects to successful outcomes using appropriate management controls and standards, including reporting, planning, dependencies, tracking delivery. As required prepare reports, MI and documentation for senior management and key stakeholders.Provide onward communication / training to message risks / gaps, priorities and achievements. Establish and maintain strong relationships with internal teams and senior stakeholders. Be proactive in managing business stakeholder priorities, concerns and expectations.Ensure the timely deliveries of Oversight teams responsibilities including but not limited to; pre and post-trade violation investigation and resolution, escalating issues appropriately ensuring actions, onboarding and reviews are completed in a timely manor;resolving client third party administrator and custodian queries regarding potential breaches The knowledge, experience and qualifications you need A good understanding of investment management generally and ideally +5yrs experience in in a similar role. PreviousAladdin experience would be beneficial. Ability to deliver complex information in a clear and concise way. Proven ability to manage and deliver projects. Desire to shape how we communicate with various internal teams and to build and manage efficient processesto deliver information. Care and diligence in reviewing overnight violations and the desire to make the way we do things more robust, scalable and efficient. The knowledge, experience and qualifications that will help Familiarity with portfolio guideline monitoringsystems Working knowledge of the regulations relating to investment restrictions e.g. UCITS and Investment Companies Act 1940. A good understanding of investment management generally Previous team leader experience.
