Job Description

THE COMPANYMy Client is the UKs largest Travel Management Company, providing travel solutions for Faith, NGOs, and Academic sectors since 1980. They have a global presence with offices in the UK, USA, Canada, Kenya and across Europe - with their UK head office in Manchester.THE ROLEMy client is seeking a creative Global Bid Manager who will help them to develop and improve the companys story in all tenders and related tender support collateral. This role will predominantly support the companys UK and North American markets.The Global Bid Manager role will collaborate directly with the Business Development Managers and Account Managers within the Commercial team as well as with the Executive Team. You will provide strong functional support across other departments including financeand technology.The successful candidate will primarily focus on the delivery of bids through the continuous improvement of tender content and the narrative that is developed through the process of customer engagement touch points. The Global Bid Manager will also be involvedin project support with the Business Development Managers on the tender process and developing the commercial proposition, whilst also having the responsibility to develop and maintain the tender library content and lead best practice in the quality of collateraland content available for bid submission.Key responsibilities:- Pre-tender new business communications (Email; Phone; Pre-Tender executive engagementproposals; White Papers and Presentations)- Pre-tender new business face to face meetings; process reviews; consultations (may includewider stakeholders of Finance; IT and Procurement and be supported by the companys subject experts)- Attend trade events and networking opportunities for executive engagement for customer and the companys execs- Pre-Tender / Tender process, building specific customer focused propositions that areconfigured to meet the customer requirements ahead of any tender process or as part of thetender submission- Tender content that is generic covering the whole companys proposition and specific segmentdifferences for NGO, Academic and Faith- Tender production and support for the tender submission that specifically address the customerrequirements and maximises the winning score- Uses competitor insights to ensure that the companys proposition is competitive and effective inneutralising the competitor advantage and maximises the winning scoreTHE PERSONWith specific experience in bid writing, B2B trade marketing, and a minimum of three years-experience in the full range of bid delivery marketing activities, the ideal candidate will complement the business development and marketing communications mix as acore discipline.Essential requirements:- Bid Management and Tender Project Delivery experience- Business to business (B2B) service organisation/sector experience- B2B Marketing experience; Trade Marketing; Narrative and Content- Experience of customer facing presentation, event management and executive engagement- Excellent and demonstrable tender composition and compiling skills - writing must fit with brandeditorial style (precise but personal, reflective of the clients needs)- Experience in leading the development and management of marketing processes and creating aknowledge base- Proven ability to collaborate to produce a quality product- Strong personal organisation, good interpersonal skills and comfortable in providing direction andleadership to the tender team, peer group and other colleagues- Highly competent in the use of Microsoft office and familiarity with publishing and/or design tools- Some flexibility required on hours when a bid is nearing completion- UK travel including our UK office networkDesirable experience and attributes:- Business Travel experience- Experience of Salesforce CRM- Public or Private sector tendering experience- Good commercial acumen, including legal Ts and Cs- Project management - ability to organise and bring leadership to the tender process* Experience working across cultures and with remote teamsThis position offers the opportunity to be part of the leading business within the travel industry. Being based in the UK, this fully remote position is paying up to £50k per annum for the right candidate.
