Job Description

Te Whatu Ora - Whanganui, based at the Whanganui Hospital, is a 35-bed medical unit providing General Medical services for the people of the Whanganui rohe/region. Our primary aim is to ensure the people in our community get the services they need to helpthem be as healthy and independent as possible.The Whanganui region offers the opportunity to explore the natural beauty of New Zealands North Island. Whether you are into water sports, cycling or mountain activities, you will have all these at your doorstep.Mo te turanga - About the roleWe seek General Medical Physicians / Hospitalists to join our highly skilled team in a permanent, full-time position. These critical positions will see successful candidates working within a small team and providing General Medical / Physician services duringward rounds.You will also attend 2 outpatient clinics and an ECG stress clinic each week. There are opportunities for additional clinics if desired and also the ability for candidates with dual training to negotiate a sub-speciality practice. You will also support otherdepartments within the hospital, providing support and advice to the emergency department and critical care units.Supporting our Registrars and Resident Medical Officers, you will be able to draw on support from our link with Wellingtons training programme and will serve as a mentor for these more junior physicians.Painga - Whats in it for youIn addition to joining a highly-skilled and dedicated team in a picturesque part of the North Island, you will receive an attractive remuneration package of $316,252 - $405,775 plus 6% Kiwi Saver. Candidates with Rheumatology experience will be highly regarded.You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, allowing you to effectively interact with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders.
