Exciting opportunity for a Business Analyst: with experience in Gas, Power and Emissions Trading, working with market risk and front office users. Working on a 6 month Contract to Hire basis.This is an exciting time to be joining this world-leading company as they transform themselves from a traditional Oil & Gas company into a leading name within the Renewables sector. This includes the creation of an already highly successful new Power Tradingdesk within the Energy Trading team as well as new ventures into various innovative solutions around the supply of Renewables including wind farms, electric vehicle charging, solar panel heating and battery storage. These innovative solutions provide opportunitiesfor exceptionally highly talented individuals to contribute to the success of this transition where you will be working with some of the best people in the industry working on new and ground-breaking initiatives utilising the very latest technology.Key Skills and Experience: Knowledge of gas, power and emissions trading Experience working with market risk and front office users Knowledge of market pricing and market data management Structured and analytical problem solver with attention to detail Knowledge of Business Analysis techniques and tools with significant experience in project deliverables including the ability to: Precisely capture business problems, value drivers, and functional/non-functional requirements, including health, safety, security, usability, data, and supportability considerations Translate business requirements into functionality and assess the risks, feasibility, opportunities, and business impacts of various solution options Design and capture target business processes and get those agreed with front office and market risk stakeholders Create clear documentation to communicate requirements and related information; keep updated to align with the solution over the project lifecycle Experience working in Agile project Delivery Personal Attributes: Team player and able to collaborate, proactively communicates and shares understanding and experience within a team Keeps up-to-date knowledge of the energy industry and energy trading Comfortable talking to trading business users and can translate business needs into tangible user stories or requirements Uses best practice analysis techniques but can change approach according to conflicting timelines/risks involved Uses initiative and owns their deliverables end-to-end Brings ideas to the table, is inquisitive and excited by new technology Used to working in a flexible, independent manner on a mixture of small unstructured and large structured itemsThis needs combining with a positive attitude and an ability to work within a large, globally dispersed project team in a multi-cultural environment. You also need to be a self-starter, a logical thinker and a quick learner, with strong initiative and excellentcommunication, interpersonal and presentation skills, able to write clearly and concisely.
