As a future G7 Economist, you will report to Head of Macro Research, and you will be part of AXA IM Core - Transversal functions DISCOVER your opportunity We are seeking an experienced economist to provide macroeconomic analysis to Head of Macro Research on UK, Canadian and Japanese economies to provide advice to fund managers, third party clients and media The overall aim is to provide macro-economic analysis for UK, Canada and Japanese economies, including regular updates. To be AXA IMs macroeconomic specialist in these regions to provide advice to PMs, wider AXA entities and other third-party clients and themedia. The role will be working closely with AXA IMs Head of Macro Research. It will immediately see exposure to a range of investment and sales teams and with AXA IMs flat management structure will involve significant interaction with senior staff. For UK:

• Provide full macro forecasts for up to two year and longer-term outlooks, including regular monthly and annual reports describing key developments
• Provide regular data reactions to key release and to build a distinct media profile for UK economics in print and broadcast the role will include thematic research on longer-term UK, or cross-jurisdictional themes as a contributor to AXA IMs InvestmentInstitute
• The role will also involve working closely with other AXA entities as UK specialist

For Canada:

• Provide full macro forecasts for up to two years and longer-term outlooks, including regular monthly and annual reports
• Provide reactions to Bank of Canada meetings and other key releases and to provide occasional thematic research into Canadian economic developments
• The role will involve working closely with other AXA entities as Canada specialist.

For Japan:

• Provide macro forecasts for key indicators, including regular monthly and annual reports and reactions to Bank of Japan meetings
• The role will also include the occasional thematic research note

Your ProfileSHARE your unique expertise We welcome different combinations of skills & experiences. Your qualifications and experience

• Minimum Masters in Economics, or similar discipline
• Demonstrable and relevant economic experience, working in one of the described economies and preferably with experience in more than one.
• Experience ideally several years working in a central bank or government economist role, or other financial institution in country economist role.

Your knowledge and skills:

• Strong verbal and written communications skills and the ability to communicate technical analysis to non-experts
• Excellent analytical skills
• Experienced excel user and data manipulator
• Knowledge of data databases, including DataStream, Macrobond, Haver or Bloomberg would be useful
• Passion to understand and explain the workings of macroeconomies and how they impact financial markets
• Enthusiasm to build on current knowledge, learn and apply new skills and grow into the role of economist
• Ability to engage with others and work well in a team
• Versatility to operate in a dynamic field & within an inclusive, forward-thinking organisation
• Detail orientated & highly organised
