Job Description

A Global Investment Bank with a strong focus on cutting-edge technology, are seeking a talented Java Developer to join their dynamic team. This is a unique opportunity to work on groundbreaking projects within the Foreign Exchange (FX) domain, where youwill play a crucial role in shaping the future of their trading systems. As a Java Developer in the FX team, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining high-performance, low-latency trading systems for the global FX operations. You will work closely with traders, quants, and other developers to designand implement robust and scalable solutions that support the trading activities. Your expertise in Java programming and FX trading systems will be essential in optimizing performance, enhancing system stability, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with traders, quants, and other developers to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
  • Develop, enhance, and maintain Java-based trading systems for the FX domain.
  • Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code that adheres to best practices and coding standards.
  • Optimize system performance and minimize latency through code optimization and algorithmic improvements.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, ensuring minimal disruption to trading activities.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate new features and enhancements into existing systems.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and technologies, and apply them to improve our systems.
Requirements:
  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong proficiency in Java programming language, with experience in multi-threading and performance optimization.
  • Solid understanding of FX trading systems and financial markets.
  • Previous experience working in an investment bank or financial institution is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with messaging protocols such as FIX, FpML, or SWIFT.
  • Knowledge of database technologies (SQL or NoSQL) and experience with data modeling.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work well under pressure.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies and software development best practices.
