Job Description

European banking firm seeks a Java Developer for a 6+ month contract paying up to £800 p/d, within their Global Markets Division based in London.The role is a technical programming role, focusing on migration from their current risk regulatory program to a new vendor. The role also involves, designing, developing, testing and implementing software soutions for the FX options business, as requiredby front office staff.The successful candidate will be able to:

  • Develop, implement and unit test the required solution, respecting BNP Paribas best practices, standards and tools
  • Follow the SAFe Agile process
    • Translate stories into technical solutions.
    • Plan, design, perform and manage all tests required to prove acceptance and non regression of the change
    • Own the change from initial design through to go live
    • Take part in peer group code reviews
    • Identify risks and issues, and help monitor them
Technical Skills required:
  • Strong Java skills with experience in
    • Java 11
    • Threading / concurrency
    • IntelliJ
    • Maven
    • Java Swing
Strong object oriented design skills with knowledge of design patternsA successful candidate will have the following:
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Able to work in a team, to share ideas and learn from others.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Self-driven with a strong desire to meet deadlines, and to work accurately and quickly.
  • Good interpersonal skills - ability to build good inter team relationships
