My client is a listed miner based in London. With assets globally, they are now seeking the addition of two new people in the FP&A team. They are a high performing, and well known, business with a diverse asset portfolio and this role offers fantastic exposure to Board level from the start and this is a role in a highly meritocratic environment. The successful candidate will be a qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA, CPA) with strong academics and previous experience of working in a mining, or extractive, industry dealing with forecasts and management reporting. Reporting into the Head of Department you will be tasked with: To deliver insightful on time, accurate and complete monthly, quarterly and annual reporting, forecasting and budgeting, for multiple BUs explaining performance against target. Provide insightful and value adding financial/operational analysis to facilitate identification of business improvement opportunities and management of risk To support the delivery of an effective Group planning and budget processes and influencing the design of new processes and systems and subsequent implementation. To collaborate and provide advice, insight and analysis to other Group Functions (e.g. Corporate Finance, IR, Group Treasury, Group Strategy) To maintain a wider understanding of the market environment and economic environment that impacts Group Strategy and Business unit operations. To support Head of FP&A in communicating and delivering commitments to the Board. QUALIFICATIONS Degree in relevant discipline. At least 2:1 classification (UK degrees) or equivalent preferred Strong preference CIMA or equivalent in a blue chip or ACA trained PwC, KPMG, Deloitte, EY or local equivalent Demonstrable Financial literacy essential through accounting qualification or through degree. Knowledge of: Proven experience in a financial analysis role in a large multinational company, or through professional services engagements with multinationals Experience with analysis and benchmarking of financial / business data, operational efficiencies and value chains Working knowledge of financial consolidation systems - HFM-Hyperion a strong advantage, though with possibility to learn on the job Operational experience in preparation of performance reporting Operational experience in the mining industry Strong working knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint essential
