Prospectus is excited to be working with a leading international food charity focused on sustainable and nutritious meat alternatives. They are looking to bring in a Science Technology Manager into their team to support the organisation and engage exciting forward thinking scientists and policy makers to make substantial change in the sector. In this role, you will lead the creation and delivery of a SciTech strategy and function for the organisation. You will engage with scientists, science media, and policymakers to catalyse the alternative proteins sector through three principal activities: inspiring more scientists to work on alternative proteins, mobilising research funding, and analysing the sector. This growing international organisation sees industrial animal agriculture as at the root of many of the most pressing global issues of our time, from the global climate breakdown and global hunger to antibiotic resistance and the exploitation of billions of animals annually. This organisation is at the forefront of the movement to use food technology and markets to replace the products of industrial animal agriculture with plant-based and cultivated alternatives.The ideal candidate will passionate and engaged with the work of the organisaiton. You be someone with the significant science credibility (PhD or MSc plus experience - all in a related field) who is also mission-driven and a great communicator. You will be a natural networker and be able to engage a variety of stakeholders with the work of the organisation. Previous work with plant based or cultivated meats would be desirable but not essential.
