About the roleTo assist with monitoring and maintaining the Quality Assurance and Safety Programmes related to FIPS (food ingredients, packaging and sugar) and feed business, in line with safe ingredients, good manufacturing and trading practices, quality products andregulatory compliance.Tasks & ResponsibilitiesTo assist in the maintenance of the Quality Management System encompassing supplier and subcontractor quality programs, hazard and risk assessments, approvals, performance tracking, audits, raw material specifications and technical information.
  • To maintain supplier and subcontractor data in line with the Subcontractor Management Programme and to request/review supplier documentation (e.g. audit reports, process flows, specifications, analyses).
  • Research current risks for transport, storage, and handling of ingredients in new trade flows.
  • Aid in the preparation for certification standards in relation to food and feed safety and quality.
  • Investigate client complaints and work with both customers and suppliers to document nonconformances and solutions.
  • Maintain up to date knowledge of technology and systems for tracking, maintaining and/or enhancing quality and safety on ingredients/food products.
  • To take responsibility for your performance and to work together to achieve our organisational goals.
  • To attend training courses which are identified as being necessary for the performance of the role.
  • To be fully conversant with the Employee Handbook and supporting policies, including Health & Safety legislation and fire and emergency procedures.
  • To comply with any reasonable instruction issued by your Manager.

About youEssential:
  • Education: Minimum Bachelors degree in Food Science or related technical field
  • 2-4 years relevant work experience in the food manufacturing industry
  • Has knowledge of HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point), Food Safety Plans, Allergens, GFSI (Global Food Safety Initiative), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Standard Operating Procedure (SOPs); ISO and relevant government regulations
  • Is able to interpret analytical and technical results such as Certificates of Analysis, Data Sheets And Lab Or Non-Conformance Reports
  • Has excellent verbal/written communication skills and computer skills
  • Is detail oriented
