• Understanding the structure and flow of data across the revenue generating products of the bank
• Developing and managing data models used for reporting on product and client data
• Using statistical methodologies to answer business questions and highlight opportunities

This role sits within what is traditionally known as Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A). However, the team is being transformed to have an increased focus on Data Analytics.It is a new role in a team of three. Your line manager is passionate about Data Analytics and provides input to all revenue-generating teams across the bank. The team will be headed by a Senior Vice President reporting directly to the CFO.The long-term aim of this role is to help build and consolidate the data analytics function within the bank.Role Responsibilities: Systems enhancement and development

• Managing and further developing the data models used for reporting, including financial and product/client data, ensuring that they remain complete, up-to-date and free from error.
• Maintaining and updating the relevant hierarchies (clients, currencies, accounts, etc) used for MI reporting, based on input from the commercial and finance teams.
• Understanding the structure and flow of data, to make improvements or to fix issues as required. This includes connectivity to ODBC data sources, queries in SQL and PowerQuery/ PowerBI , ETL templates and processes in VENA, etc.
• Support the ongoing development of the MI systems.

Analysis and Business Partnering

• Analysing the available data using statistical methodology to answer business questions and to highlight opportunities.
• Supporting the development of PowerBI visualisations and dashboards, which will enhance access and understanding of the available data.
• Working with Senior Management to develop consistent and accurate reporting.
• Ongoing ad-hoc commercial and analytical support.

Management Reporting

• Provision and development of daily and weekly management information to assist in measuring business performance against key metrics.
• Support the timely reporting on business performance through monthly reporting packs including Flash, Cost Reporting and Board Reporting.

Budgeting and Forecasting

• Providing support as required in the budgeting and forecasting cycles, including analysing, extracting, uploading and maintaining the relevant data in VENA.

ProfileFinancial Systems Data Analyst - Fin-techRequire Skills/Experience:

• Working with data: extracting, analysing, transforming, and uploading data
• Producing reports and visualisations
• Exceptional Analytical and Excel skills
• Reading and Writing SQL queries
• Experience in programming would be ideal, although not required
• Experience with VENA (or similar OLAP system, such as IBM Cognos) would be ideal
• Experience working with financial and accounting data in multiple currencies would be ideal, although not required
• High attention to detail and ability to review work quickly and accurately.
