When that happens, we’re not only helping small business, we’ll be building a stronger economy that can change the world.How you’ll make an impactThe role of the Partnerships Manager is to lead Xero’s engagement with its partners within the Xero App Marketplace.There are some 800 such partners providing complementary functionality to Xero’s SME clients and the accounting community that supports them. As Partnerships Manager you will be bringing innovative new technologies to Xero’s business platform through world class partnerships.As our App Marketplace grows to include more financial services propositions, you are likely to engage with fintechs, payment providers and banks. The key to success is the delivery of mutual benefits to Xero and its partners, opening up incremental TAM’ (Total Addressable Market) through growth of horizontal and vertical applications and financial services relationships.Working with marketing and partner management teams to create playbooks and other assets to support the adoption of our propositions by our accounting partners and SME customers. You’ll have a good understanding of revenue sharing principles and demonstrable skills in their application.What you’ll do

  • Identifying opportunities to both extend existing and develop new commercial partnerships with organisations that can accelerate Xero’s growth in the UK marketplace.
  • Manage, evaluate and prioritise a pipeline of strategic opportunities with measurable milestones and KPIs measured on a monthly basis.
  • Develop success plans with each strategic partner with quarterly commitments, based on sound business modelling and project management.
  • Present and gain approval to executive leadership to pursue strategic relationships, securing commitments from internal stakeholders.
  • Negotiate agreements with input from legal, finance and key internal stakeholders.
  • Accountability for execution of marketing plans and sales production resulting from strategic agreements.
  • Collaborate with Xero’s Technical Evangelism team, to support partners developing and building best in class apps and experiences that integrate with the Xero API.
  • What you’ll bring with youCritical competencies and Experience
  • Min 3-5 years Partnerships Management, Business Development or related experience - preference may be given to candidates with demonstrable domain expertise in the FinTech or Financial Services industry, in particular Lending or Payments Services.
  • Business development experience with a focus in B2B or B2B2C organisations including strong horizontal/vertical/ecosystem business development and sales experience.
  • Experience within Cloud / Web-Based / SaaS technology would be advantageous.
  • Experience of integrated or API enabled products would be ideal.
  • Ability to build relationships and demonstrate excellent negotiation skills with various stakeholder groups.
  • Strong organisational skills and rigorous attention to detail.
  • Executive presence, strong business and financial acumen and the demonstrable ability to drive deals from ideas to outcomes.
  • Ability to review and understand the core details of a contract, working closely with legal teams.
  • Open to travel (domestic and international).
