Corporate and Investment Bank with global focus - high profitable and well runLean team in London with high profile, commercially focused teamCity of London location with hybrid office [3x days]/home workingDescriptionFinancial Controls Senior Assistant Manager, CIBBanking & Financial ServicesCity of London location with hybrid office [3x days]/home workingContributes to the overall success of the Finance team ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the teams business strategies and objectives. Ensures all activities conducted are following governing regulations,internal policies and procedures.Culture:

  • Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge
  • Contribute to the management of the resolution of control weaknesses and implementation of improvements to ensure quality delivery, maintenance of the issues and improvements log
  • Work with stakeholders to design and implement controls and advise of control suitability
  • Liaise with stakeholders i.e. Operations, Operational Risk, IT, Global Finance to identify controls and issues which impact London Finance
Core:
  • Understand how the Banks risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions
  • Maintain the Banks internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators
Project Management:
  • Collaboration with the Banks Regulatory Reporting Projects team to implement the Global Target Operating including the key Model dimensions and policies
Attestation:
  • To contribute to the management of the monthly attestation programs for the key controls supporting the regulatory and financial reporting activities
  • Support the administration of the monthly Balance Sheet Attestation process
Quality Assurance:
  • Perform E2E Quality Assurance (QA) testing on the key COREP and Statistical returns , including performing quarterly tests
  • Perform E2E Quality Assurance testing on general ledger balances
Performance Management:
  • Liaise with the Reporting teams, including relevant SMEs, and the RRP in Global teams to ensure processes and procedures are in alignment with the RRTOM
  • Contribute to the management of the departments Risk and Controls Metrics reporting process
Other Control Activities:
  • Support the preparation of weekly and monthly dashboard, including risk and controls assessment metric-based dashboard for senior management review and resolution
  • Deliver training to staff on improving controls and adherence to the finance control framework
  • Liaise with Internal and External auditors, Operational Risk or Compliance and other stakeholders as required
  • Attendee of the London Transactional Data Attestation Committee and General Ledger Attestation Committees
  • EUC management, including Inventory Management
  • Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk,AML/ATF risk and conduct risk, including but not limited to responsibilities under the Operational Risk Management Framework, Regulatory Compliance Risk Management Framework, AML/ATF Global Handbook and the Code of Conduct
  • Contributes to a high-performance environment and fosters an inclusive work environment, supporting the vison/values/business strategy for the team

  • Qualified Accountant; ACA, ACCA, CIMA
  • Sound knowledge of operational requirements within financial services industry
  • A sound working knowledge of general accounting principles, financial products and systems
  • Ability to perform under pressure / manage tight deadlines whilst not compromising on quality
  • Demonstrated experience of delivery to tight reporting deadlines
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage a range of competing priorities
  • Able to proactively manage demands of stakeholders
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
