Job Description

FINANCIAL CONTROLLER - Strategy and ChangeLondon/Essex£65,000 - £80,000Aimee Willow Connex are working with an innovative, award-winning company operating in retail and professional markets of electrical haircare products. Based on strong foundations the company is now moving into a growth face and is looking for a financeprofessional to work as a partner alongside the executive team to execute their plan.You will report directly to the CEO and work closely with the Board.You will need to be [passionate and enthusiastic with a strong ability to negotiate, influence, design and change.This role offers hybrid working.Job Overview:

  • Oversee the financial affairs of the organisation and ensure they are legal, constitutional and within accepted accounting practice in UK, Europe and other jurisdictions as required
  • Oversee the various reporting related software systems and ensure their smooth functioning
  • Ensure proper records are kept and that effective financial procedures are in place
  • Monitor and report on the financial health of the organisation
  • Oversee the production of necessary financial reports/returns, accounts and audits.
  • Oversee all financial transactions and fundraising efforts
  • Make fellow stakeholders aware of their financial obligations and take a lead in interpreting financial data to them
  • Regularly report the financial position at stakeholder meetings (balance sheet, cash flow, fundraising performance etc)
  • Oversee the production of and update multi-year forecasts and propose its adoption at the last meeting of the previous financial year
  • Monitor actual performance versus these forecasts and analyse significant deviations to be communicated to management
  • Undertake bookkeeping duties and/or oversee the finance team ensuring invoicing, posting and bookkeeping is kept up-to-date
  • Arrange payments to creditors as appropriate and arrange appropriate signatures on payments
Role Requirements:
  • A qualified accountant with a minimum of 5 years PQE
  • Knowledge of financial management as necessary
  • Good financial analysis skills
  • Capable of handling figures and cash management
  • Experience in managing larger sums of money and budgets
  • Have experience in and budgeting
  • Be a quick thinker and be available for ad hoc advice
  • A problem solver with a solutions mind-set
  • Experience with accounting and stock management systems and the understanding the integration of various applications, as well as the ability to navigate basic software systems
  • Experience of international reporting desirable
  • Experience from ecommerce and/or an organisation carrying 100+ SKUs in its inventory
