Job Description

MLC Partners are working with a commercially focussed charitable organisation, who have gone through explosive growth in the past few years to recruit a Financial Controller. Based in Central London, but with a good amount of flexibility, the role joins a team who are going through a large amount of change and comes with the prospect of really putting your stamp on things. Reporting into a manager who has a clear focus on developing teams, this is a great opportunity for someone looking for the next step in their career.Main responsibilities of the role include:

  • Ensure the preparation of accurate monthly and quarterly management packs for use across the organisation, including board level reports.
  • Manage a team of finance assistance, developing and future-proofing the team whilst providing training across the organisation as appropriate.
  • Oversee the transactional accounting of the charity, making sure that appropriate controls and procedures are in place to cope with future growth.
  • Work with the head of finance and the various donors to bring the reporting standards up to scratch for their compliance needs.
    • The successful candidate will be:
  • A fully qualified accountant with experience of producing annual accounts and the monthly reporting process.
  • Understand what good looks like’ and be able to take a lead on the introduction of new policies and procedures.
  • Able to challenge upwards, coping with multiple, changing, priorities - but being able to say no when necessary.
  • Experienced in a high growth, changing environment with demonstrable experience of making change.
