Job Description

Kenny Recruit have partnered with an exciting and blossoming retail business who specialise in hardware & DIY. They are high growth and have found a niche in the market that really makes them stand out. They design stylish hardware products in high qualitymaterials, and offer them to customers for a pretty fair price. products that dont cost a fortune! Whats more, theyre on a mission to inspire a generation of DIYers. The two Founders are still hugely involved in the business and this business stemsfrom their dreams and passions.The current Financial Controller has built the finance processes and data structure from scratch, across compliance, reporting, FP&A and analytics. The reason for the role is maternity leave and so this role is being created in order for a lead to come infor the first time and take the entire finance function through the next phase of evolution as the business continues to scale. This is a permanent role with potential progression to Head of Finance/FD as the business scales.Entrepreneurial spirit is key for this position. We need more than an Accountant, you need to want to take on more and be commercially astute as this business builds up to sale.Pay: £60,000 - £70,000 per annum + benefits + share options. Location: North East London (hybrid working offered - 3 days in office & 2 working from home)Working hours: 9.00am - 5.30pmResponsibilities:

  • Managing third party bookkeeping resource to produce management accounts and board reporting
  • Managing outsourced payroll provider
  • Managing trading reporting and running weekly trading meetings with the management team
  • Daily, weekly and monthly cash management and payments
  • Managing the FP&A cycle (budgeting and reforecasting)
  • Assisting the co-founder director with board meetings
  • Analytics and business partnering
  • Overseeing quantitative elements of performance marketing
  • Managing the firms relationship with third party lawyers
  • Longer term projects include fundraising and strategic structuring
Our ideal candidate would be someone who...
  • Practice or industry ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification (3+ yrs training)
  • Industry side experience in finance teams (3+ years)
  • Experience in retail or e-commerce
  • Experience with management accounts
  • Experience with budgeting - ability to work a fully integrated Balance Sheet, P&L and Cash Flow model
  • Experience cross collaborating with non finance teams and senior managers
  • An interest in scale up business
  • An interest in Interior Design/DIY
