Job Description

SRM are delighted to be partnered with a well know Transportation company as they look to strengthen their finance function by bringing onboard a strong Financial Accountant.We are seeking a highly motivated and driven candidate who is actively pursuing a professional accounting qualification for a Financial Accountant vacancy.Not only will you receive full study support you will but you will get mentored by seasoned professionals and exposure to a large and complex finance function.In order to be successful for this post you will need to have solid experience with Balance Sheets.Responsibilities:Financial Accounting:

  • Closing period end activities in accordance with period close timeline.
  • Assisting in the periodic review of trial balance and key balance sheet accounts before the closing down of period end.
  • Assisting in the preparation of the balance sheet and cashflow for period end.
  • Raising and posting of approved journals.
Balance Sheet Reconciliation Process:
  • Assisting in the management of the balance sheet reconciliation monthly process.
  • Manage the balance sheet general ledger responsibility.
  • Assist in organising and compiling submissions from the wider finance team to meet the Financial Controller and First Group deadlines.
  • Complete Ad-hoc tasks as requested by the management team.
Intercompany:
  • Assist in the management of the intercompany process, ensuring all intercompany charges received or raised are supported by affiliate agreements, within budget and coded to the correct intercompany general ledger codes.
  • Ensure all intercompany invoices, accruals and other transactions are reconciled.
  • Work with the Financial Controlling Team to ensure that all Intercompany purchase invoices received have been raised on purchase orders.
Creditor / Debtor Account Management:
  • Assist in the management of the Debtor / Creditor account. Reconciling cash received / paid versus payment letters.
  • Posting periodic journal to correct Cost Subsidy and Revenue Payments
Requirements:
  • 2-3 years working in a similar finance role
  • Actively studying towards a qualification (ACCA/ACA/CIMA)
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Strong Balance Sheet experience
  • Intermediate Excel
