Job Description

Join Close Brothers Property Finance Team where you will understand and prepare the divisions monthly performance and; reporting (to the Division and the Bank), provide tight financial control over the balance sheet and P&L. To support the FD in the assessment of accounting standards and their impact on the division. Be a key point of contact for the business, Group Finance, Central Finance, Credit, Risk, Compliance, Regulatory Reporting, Accounts Payable and Tax. Assist with FP&A,such as the budget and forecast processes as and when required. RESPONSIBILITIESFinance

  • Responsibility for preparation of monthly balance sheet reconciliations
  • Support in preparing monthly management accounts, including detailed variance analysis with an ability to understand and explain these movements
  • Reconcile and prepare all Property intercompany settlements
  • Support in preparing the Interim and Year end reporting deliverables to Group (including quarterly FinRep reporting)
  • Support in preparation of quarterly VAT returns
WE WOULD LOVE TO HEAR FROM YOU IF HAVE/ARE:
  • Fully qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA or equivalent)
  • Can demonstrate relevant experience in preparation of monthly reporting .
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail; for example looking at large amounts of data to identify trends
  • Ability to translate large amounts of data into useful information and actionable items.
  • Advanced Excel and good IT skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Evidence of taking ownership and making improvements
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Must have a curious and proactive mind-set and understand the why; not afraid to question and challenge
  • Must work well within teams and able to engage with a variety of people across multiple departments.
  • Must be prepared to get involved in a wide variety of tasks.
IT IS NOT ESSENTIAL BUT IT WOULD BE GREAT IF YOU HAVE:
  • Previous experience working in financial services or property. If no previous industry experience then must demonstrate a strong desire to learn
  • Experience with SAP general ledger
  • Experience with Alteryx
