Job Description

Finance Sustainability Lead - Executive DirectorAre you passionate about sustainability and ready to take a leadership role in driving environmental, social, and governance (ESG) reporting and disclosure initiatives Venn Group are currently looking for a dynamic Finance Sustainability Lead to join aglobal bank on an initial 6-month contract basis.Role Overview:As the Finance Sustainability Lead, you will be responsible for overseeing our sustainability reporting strategy and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations. You will work closely with senior leadership, stakeholders, and subject matterexperts to shape our sustainability reporting framework, build organizational capabilities, and drive adoption of emerging sustainability technologies and practices.Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute a 3-year financial reporting and disclosure strategy aligned with ESG reporting trends, regulatory requirements, and double materiality principles.
  • Collect and report data and metrics following accounting and reporting standards while benchmarking with industry peers.
  • Manage a portfolio of sustainability products for accurate accounting and reporting, acting as a project management office for coordinating various operational efforts.
  • Build constructive relationships with internal and external stakeholders, fostering ongoing dialogue and transparency.
  • Identify gaps in organizational capabilities and implement educational initiatives to upskill the team.
  • Explore and scale up the adoption of emerging sustainability technologies and solutions.
  • Embed sustainability into processes and decision-making by conducting profitability analysis.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards for sustainability-related products.
  • Lead the EMEA Sustainability Programme Reporting & Disclosure workstream, collaborating with subject matter experts and business units.
  • Engage with auditors and provide necessary data and information on a regular basis.
  • Document and maintain reporting methodology, data sources, and controls.
  • Provide regular updates to governance bodies on ESG financial and regulatory reporting and disclosures.
  • Conduct monthly profitability analysis for ESG and sustainability products.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Post-graduate qualification in Finance, Accountancy, or a related risk discipline.
  • Extensive industry experience with deep knowledge of sustainability-related disclosure and accounting frameworks.
  • Strong track record of stakeholder management, including engagement at Board level.
  • Experience leading and delivering strategic initiatives at a senior level.
  • Proficiency in finance, accounting standards, and banking and capital markets products.
  • Proven ability to enhance processes, policies, and systems for productivity improvements.
  • Strong external network for market intelligence.
  • Cultural awareness and exceptional influencing skills.
