Job Description

Role - Finance and Operations ManagerSalary - £50,000-£55,000 Location - East London Industry - Music An exciting new role has arisen within the London based office of this music business. The group is made up of a publishing arm, production arm and recording side, they also oversee the tour support for their artists. This role will be incredibly broad andbe responsible from anything from the budgeting and forecasting and risk calculations to the invoicing. You will be based within London and working out of a shared office space full of creative businesses and artists, the business operates on a hybrid basisand there will also be monthly travel to the recording studios across the country.Responsibilities include:* Provide assurance and advice to the business owner on all areas of business risk and financial matters.* Establish and maintain robust business and financial controls to include, but not limited to:- Policies and procedures for ensuring the timely and comprehensive registration of artist and writers work.- The management of contractual risk by ensuring adherence to contractual obligations - both business and financial.- Establish and enforce a travel policy to include pre-approvals.- Establish and enforce a policy for the use of credit cards.* Overall responsibility for liaising and reporting to the Music Royalty Company, including the establishment of procedures and databases to record the relevant data to enable the sign off and checking of royalty statements.* Establish and maintain databases as required in support of the above.* Ensure all contractual paperwork is in place before artist related activity takes place and invoices paid.* In conjunction with the Finance Team, pro-actively co-ordinate and participate in the participation of the annual and quarterly budget and estimating process.* Maintain and enforce budgetary controls by regular liaising with the business and campaign managers, pro-actively updating the budget/forecasting spreadsheet and advising the Finance Team of monthly accruals and prepayments.* Co-ordinate the business and financial commentary for monthly management information, including the analysis of actuals compared with budgets and forecasts.* Download and provide income statements and invoices for all income received.* Manage the AP invoice process.* Develop and maintain robust cash flow forecast to enable appropriate planning.* Develop and maintain relationships with contractors and suppliers, instill a culture of adhering to best business practice.About you:- Passion for the music/entertainment industry- Computer literate, with excellent skills in Excel and experience with implementing and managing controls to manage business and financial risk.- Excellent organisational and prioritisation skills.- Confident communication skills, with the ability to interact with individuals from a range of backgrounds.- Willing and able to take responsibility and ownership for tasks.- Accounting experience obtained within an SME- 3+ years experience preparing full set management accounts- Engaging, clear communication skills and strong business acumen (ability to push back)Morgan McKinley is acting as an Employment Agency and references to pay rates are indicative.BY APPLYING FOR THIS ROLE YOU ARE AGREEING TO OUR TERMS OF SERVICE WHICH TOGETHER WITH OUR PRIVACY STATEMENT GOVERN YOUR USE OF MORGAN MCKINLEY SERVICES.
