Job Description

Our client is a healthcare market research service provider. Employing over 400 people globally, they are a well established market leaders in their field and are able to show growth in these challenging times.They are now looking to hire an experienced Finance Manager who can demonstrate a good working knowledge financial controls and processes and be extremely IT literate . Reporting directly to the Finance Director, you will be responsible for the day to day management of a small finance team. The role is both challenging and diverse, it has a high profile within the UK operation and the successful applicant must be equally comfortable with liaising with staff at a senior level and rolling up their sleeves and being actively involved in the monthly quarterly and year end reporting.Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintaining the general ledger; preparing the monthly intercompany reconciliations and bank reconciliations; and the maintenance of the fixed asset register. To oversee the finance team that carries out all aspects of the accounts clerical duties upto the general ledger level
  • Preparation of monthly management accounts - P and L, analytical reviews, Balance Sheet with comparison against plan, and B/S reconciliations
  • Helping the Business Unit (BU) team and the Finance Director (FD) in the design and implementation of robust financial and sales reporting.
  • Preparation of project costing sheets (P/L) and providing analysis as and when required
  • Completion of VAT returns
  • Preparation of the statutory accounts schedules, provision of support to the external auditors
  • Provide assistance and support to the FD and BU directors in the preparation of budgets
  • Monthly calculation of sales commissions in accordance with company commission guidelines
  • Liase with external payroll agents to provide them details information to prepare monthly payroll of about 50 employees, perform commission calculations and the yearly preparation of P11D submissions
  • The successful applicant will be
  • Able to demonstrate a good solid commercial experience working in a mid management in the finance department
  • Able to prepare accounts up to P/L and BS stages for audit purposes and management accounts production to tight deadlines
  • ACCA/ ACMA/ ACA Qualified or Finalist level
  • Able to show a thorough knowledge of progress billing and revenue recognition
  • Able to utilize Excel to an advanced level. Experience with Maconomy an advantage.
