They have clear goals to want to build an organisation where employees feel valued, inspired, andempowered so it’s key that you share in these values in order to provide the best services possible to residents.As part of the role, you will contribute towards the development and implementation of the council’s financial strategy, working closely with all stakeholders reviewing and updating on risk and opportunities. You will also ensure systems and procedures thatenable effective budgetary control and advise Assistant Directors and Strategic Managers on funding and financial management.You will be preparing working papers for the upcoming audit, reviewing how closure of accounts went and lessons learnt. Preparing guidance on capitalisation. Answering technical queries and act as a key financial advisor and service delivery partner, providingstrategic support and contribute to the delivery of a high performing, customer focused finance service that is proactive and creative.Managing a team of five people you will encourage staff to recognise their contribution to the strategic objectives the council has set and foster a high-performance culture.It’s not essential that you have Capital accounting experience, but it is highly desirable.
