Job Description

Job title: Finance ManagerPackage: £50k+Location: Remote (occasional UK travel)Reporting to: The DirectorsJob type: Full TimeOur ClientOur client is a modern and prestigious, owner-managed holiday lettings company.They are looking to recruit a self-motivated and enthusiastic Finance Manager to come and join their small, friendly team. This role would suit someone who likes to get involved in a wider remit than just finance as it encompasses management of health andsafety, planned maintenance and booking. An important role for those who are excited by a varied, hands-on role at a senior level and delivery of a truly excellent client service.Finance Manager - The RoleAs Finance Manager, you will work closely with the Operations Manager managing the day-to-day accounting, operations and office administration of the company. Ensuring efficient systems and controls are in place to provide a first-class back-office function.Key responsibilities include:

  • Financial management of business and accounts;
  • Financial analysis, reporting, forecasting and cash-flow;
  • Contract administration - full and part-time staff, utilities, and local providers;
  • Oversight of the properties to ensure they are fully compliant for health and safety, disability access, fire risk assessments and insurance requirements;
  • Working with the Operations Manager and Property Manager to ensure the houses are presented as intended by the architects and designers;
  • Cover for the Operations Manager as required, to include administration of rental booking system;
  • Contribute to the overall vision and promotion of the company.
The Successful ApplicantYou will ideally be a qualified accountant who has experience of working in an operational finance role within an SME.Ideally you will demonstrate:
  • Qualified accountant - CIMA/ACCA/ACA/AAT (QBE also considered);
  • Experience of preparing management accounts and a good understanding of accounting concepts (double entry/accruals/ prepayments etc);
  • Strong working knowledge of Excel (including V lookups and pivot tables);
  • Working knowledge of Quickbooks (desirable);
  • Ability to travel on occasions to London and site locations;
  • An inquiring analytical mind;
  • Good communicator and a strong team player;
  • Excellent attention to detail and a desire to offer a first-class client service;
  • Ability to multitask and manage deadlines.
