Job Description

Role: Financial Controller/ Finance ManagerCompany: Beauty & Fashion Marketing Communications AgencyLocation : London - Hybrid 3 days in officeTerm : Either Full Time or 4 days a weekSalary : £50K - £58K annual Equivalent - depending on qualification and experienceReference: VFR2974OverviewOur client an SME creative agency is looking for a Financial Controller/ Finance Manager Manager to join them working closely with the founders and overseeing a finance assistant. There is a portfolio CFO to act as a mentor / guide . There are also external accountants who manage the payroll and year end statutory reporting and tax. Therole will be varied with great oversight of the whole financial function. Working in a highly creative environment where the agencies clients are in the Beauty and fashion arena. the role can either be 4 days a week or full time.The Financial controller/ Finance Manager role

  • Responsible for the preparation of the Month and Annual accounts on Xero
  • Management of the Project Accounting process ( WIP, Billing, Write off and Reconciliations)
  • Staff utilisation and KPI measures
  • Cost analysis and supplier review
  • Looking at improving efficiency of the finance process
  • Business partner with the owners and support in improving commerciality within the agency
  • Production of monthly management accounts and presentation to directors/ owners
  • Technical accounting (Payroll & taxation) supported by external accountants
  • Support, Training and management of finance assistant (who mainly looks after the Purchase Ledger)
  • Management of PO register and customer project budget sheets
  • Invoicing of project budget sheets
  • Allocation of customer receipts
  • Bank reconciliation
  • Cashflow forecasting
  • Company credit card management and reconciliation
  • Credit control
  • Supplier payments - Weekly and ad hoc
  • Management of customer and supplier queries
  • Monthly journals - Prepayments/Deferred income etc
  • Monthly reconciliation of cost of sales accounts
  • Input of Monthly payroll calculation
  • Ad hoc HMRC payments (VAT and PAYE set up via DD)
  • Ad hoc projects
The Candidate for the Financial controller/Finance Manager role:
  • you will have worked previously in a creative agency
  • You will have experience of using Xero
  • Happy to work in the office 3 days a week
  • you will be QBE or part qualified ACCA, CIMA, ACA, CPA
  • You will have great attention to detail and strong communication skills
  • You will have a positive can do attitude
  • You will be looking to grow and develop your skills as the agency grows
  • Ideally you will be able to start by the end of January 2024
