Salary: £22,800Hours: 21 hours per weekLocation: Islington office with the option to work from home 1 day per week following successful completion of qualifying probation period.We are working with a dynamic charity and membership body based in Islington to recruit a Finance and Governance Manager. This charity is focused on doctors who work on all aspects of medicines research and development. This team works closely with the Boardof Trustees and over 1,600 members to improve the health of the public around the world.The successful candidate will work collaboratively with the CEO to develop the financial strategy to ensure the sustainability of the organisation as well as be responsible for overseeing the finances.The successful candidate will have a good track record of managing finances in a charity or not-for-profit setting.What will you be responsible forFinancial management, budgeting and reporting· Oversee the issuing of subscription and other invoices and ensure payments are collected in line with FPM’s stated business terms.· Provide timely and accurate financial reports to the board and Senior Management Team (SMT), including management accounts, balance sheets, forecast and budgets, as well as quarterly financial analysis.· Monitor, record and report on designated and restricted funds in liaison with the outsourced accountant.· Provide advice to funding bids to apply the appropriate accounting treatment.· Submit annual reports and accounts to the Charity Commission and to Companies House.· Prepare information and reports in advance of and during the annual audit in liaison with the outsourced accountant.· Act as the key contact for the auditors on the annual audit, including preparing all pre-audit documentation and collating additional materials as requested.· Work with the Chief Executive, SMT members and other stakeholders as appropriate to prepare the annual budget and narrative, and quarterly forecasts.· Assist the SMT in understanding, monitoring and interpreting team and activity budgets, and flag up areas for concern.· Assist project managers in producing, managing and reporting on project-specific budgets and tracking expenditure against project funding.2. Governance and compliance· Ensure compliance with Charity Commission regulations, company law and financial management policies, and advise on any potential non-compliance.· Advise the Chief Executive on governance matters.· Manage the board and committee calendar, and work with committee chairs and staff leads to agree agendas for meetings, inc. the AGM, and to ensure meeting invitations and Zoom links are sent to all participants.· Liaise with Chief Executive to collate board papers and ensure papers are circulated in timely fashion before the board meeting, and take and circulate minutes.· Take responsibility for action logs in conjunction with the Chief Executive and ensure all actions are followed up and outcomes recorded.· Manage the risk register and liaise with the Chief Executive and SMT members to ensure all material and current risks are captured and the register kept up to date.· Manage the schedule of policies and ensure they are reviewed and submitted to the relevant committee for approval.· Develop and manage a contract management process, working with the Chief Executive and SMT members to ensure all current and archive contracts are captured.· Maintain a central register of key documents and develop and manage protocols around their review and updating.· Work with the Chief Executive to manage the recruitment and induction of Trustees.· Ensure all Trustee records are kept up to date, including (but not limited to) conflict of interest forms.If you are an experienced NFP finance professional seeking a part-time role supporting a dynamic and innovative leadership team with their mission to make an impact on social health, get in touch with us today!
