Job Description

The Finance Director will play a significant role as a key member of the executive management team, acting both at a strategic and operational level to support the companys ambitious business plan. Leading and developing the groups strategic planning framework, accounting policies, reporting requirements and audit.The role requires a deep understanding of the companys lending and asset management products and services working closely with other business units including credit, legal and asset management, liaison with external advisors for audit, tax and other advisory services.Key responsibilities will be:

  • Input on all aspects of corporate strategy, business plan, objectives and KPIs
  • Prepare group consolidated budgets and forecasts
  • Manage the loan accounting process
  • Develop treasury function to accurately forecast and optimise usage and minimise drag on cash
  • Review joint venture contracts and assess accounting implications for transfer of loans
  • Develop a best-in-class, high quality reporting - including monthly management accounts and annual accounts (IFRS), subsidiary statutory accounts (UK GAAP) and other reporting as required.
  • Lead the external audit process for UK and overseas entities
  • Development and control of month-end reporting cycle
  • Prepare the group consolidated monthly management accounts and commentary
    • The Candidate
  • Minimum 8+ years experience in a lending environment in an investment bank, fund manager, private equity firm or debt fund in the Real Estate Sector.
  • For this role we are seeking an accomplished qualified finance professional (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with expert knowledge of fund accounting gained in a property fund management environment.
  • The ideal individual will have the business acumen and interpersonal skills to provide credible advice to executive management and our external investors on investment and transaction structuring that will help to drive investment returns.
  • Strong technical accounting background (revenue recognition, financial instruments, goodwill, share-based payments, etc.), including IFRS and UK GAAP and Listing requirements.
