Job Description

Reporting directly to the CFO, the Finance Director (NPLs) will play a key role in leading the finance aspects of the business. The Finance Director (NPLs) will be responsible for defining and implementing strong, repeatable processes and controls for allaccounting and reporting within the entities and will be a pivotal point for interactions between the Finance team and the Asset Management and Underwriting and Analytics teams.The Finance Director (NPLs) will be responsible for:General:

  • Oversee the day-to-day functioning of the Finance Team, maintaining and fostering the relationship management within the team
  • Oversee the work of the junior team members, taking a lead on supporting their development and continuing to build resiliency within the Finance Team
  • Lead the continuous improvement of process management within the business. Ensuring all finance processes are fully documented and key controls are robustly designed and operated
  • Develop a deep understanding of the business to be able to fairly and properly represent the Finance Team with all business stakeholders (internal teams, shareholder, investors, servicers etc)
  • Assist with the production of the Financial Information required for the regular board meetings, and "Board Packs"
  • Lead the Financial Audit process for all entities within the group (currently 17 entities), acting as the key point of contact between and the external auditors.
Corporate:
  • Oversee the Core Accounting of the Management Company Entity, ensuring robust and insightful budgeting and management reporting processes
  • Oversee the Core Accounting of Subsidiary Entities holding portfolios of Non-Performing Loans, ensuring robust and insightful management reporting processes
  • Oversee and ensure the robustness of all reconciliations processes
  • Own the relationship management of Asset Servicing Companies as it relates to all aspects of Finance
  • Oversee the VAT and Corporation tax process, and liaise with third party service providers
Fund Finance:
  • Take full ownership of the quarterly valuations process across the portfolio, ensuring the Shareholder receives timely and accurate information
  • Work with the Asset Management Team to develop a mastery of business plans for each portfolio in order to identify and provide valuable insights into the financial aspects of portfolio performance and reporting
  • Oversee all aspects of 3rd party reporting, including production of detailed lender reports (IPD and performance) and valuation for the investors, ensuring that reporting is timely and accurate.
Essential skills:
  • A qualified accountant (ACA) or equivalent with significant years of post-qualified experience within a financial leadership role
  • Prior exposure to NPL workout within Europe
  • Significant experience of dealing with non-performing loans, ideally within an investment management or investment banking firm
  • Broad financial skill set spanning valuation, accounting, tax, financial reporting, business planning etc
  • Prior experience managing external vendors and / or internal service providers.
