Job Description

THE COMPANYWe are partnering with a real estate asset management and investment business which has investments across the United States, United Kingdom, and Mainland Europe. The portfolio includes residential, commercial and hotels in these geographies, consistingof over 10 million square feet of real estate, in over 100 properties and 2,500 hotel rooms.The group manages some of the most exciting real estate development projects in the world, creating extraordinary properties in iconic locations for tenants, customers and guests alike.The focus on hospitality began in the 1980s and has expanded with various hotel investments across the United States, United Kingdom, and Europe.The group has been at the forefront within the hospitality industry’s evolution in recent years, in utilising its in-house specialist expertise to re-develop and reposition its unique assets. They believe passion, a clear vision and best-in-class talent leads to extraordinary results.BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE OPPORTUNITYThis is a compelling opportunity for a qualified accountant who has strong practical reporting skills to now move into a more commercial role. Reporting and working closely with an accomplished CFO (who has a strong track record in helping people to learnand fulfil their potential), you will have the chance to really bridge the gap between a reporting background and becoming more commercial in your mindset.You will be responsible for the consolidated reporting and analysis of the Operational hotels ensuring the provision of concise and accurate information to the Hotel team, providing concise overviews and detailed analysis to help guide strategy.You will also work with the regional teams to ensure all efforts are made to drive improvement of the operational results of the business as well as detailed involvement in projects such as the implementation of dashboard reporting.REPORTING RELATIONSHIPYou will report directly to the Chief Financial Officer and will have a dotted reporting line to the Chief Operating Officer. The individual financial controllers at each hotel report directly to the hotel General Manager but will have a reporting responsibilityin this role.The position is based at the Groups Head Office, but you will be required to travel and spend time at the other locations the role oversees.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Produces accurate and timely financial information to the management team to assist with the day to day running of the business.
  • Prepare consolidated reporting and forecasting for presentation to the board providing high level analysis, and initial recommendations.
  • Work with the management team to guide and advise on strategic actions and their implementation.
  • Collaborate effectively with the hotel finance teams to maximize individual and property asset potential.
  • Review appropriate KPI reports for the business and provide the Chief Financial Officer / Chief Operating Officer with commentary and proposed action plans.
  • Own and prepare the month end internal board packs and attend appropriate review meetings, whilst providing support and guidance on financial and commercial matters for the Group.
  • Review and challenge all internal controls and procedures to ensure they are maintained across the Groups.
  • Develop, analyse and manage Group Specific Key Performance Indicators, particularly in Food and Beverage.
  • Review and interrogates all forecast and budgets prepared by hotel management teams to ensure the Chief Operating Officer / Chief Financial Officer are provided with guidelines of performance that are both reasonable and achievable.
  • Review and propose any process improvements across the Group to ensure key financial information is delivered in the most effective and efficient means across all locations.
  • Work in conjunction with the IT team to safeguard the Groups hotels in line with all GDPR / data security requirements.
  • Work with the finance team to provide proper management of the Groups working capital and cash flow requirements.
  • Work with the finance team to ensure all legal, treasury and tax documentation is properly maintained and secured and that allstatutory and fiscal reporting requirements are satisfied, which will include any governmental requirement for permits and licenses.
  • Continuously monitor economic, social and governmental trends and policies to ensure the Chief Financial Officer and corporate management are kept fully apprised of any implications which may affect the performance of the hotels in meeting its financialobjectives.
  • Act as an ambassador for the business and leading the Groups culture and values & acting as key spokesperson for the Group with internal & external stakeholders when required.
  • Carry out any other duties that may be reasonably requested by the Chief Operating Officer / Chief Financial Officer.
YOUQualifications:
  • Relevant professional qualifications (eg ACA, ACCA, CIMA).
  • Experience:
  • Experience in financial accounting and reporting e.g. analyse P&L statements, develop operating budgets, prepare a short and long term forecast and champion capital expenditure planning and asset management.
  • Experience/knowledge of the hotel/hospitality sector is desirable but not essential.
  • Skills and Knowledge:
  • Strong communication and presentation skills (verbal, listening, writing)
  • Strong organization and analytical skills in problem-solving
  • Ability to acquire, maintain and influence relationships e.g., stakeholders, customers, vendors, investors
  • Commercial, business focused outlook
  • Effective conflict and change management skills
