Job Description

This highly successful international design company based in Central London is looking to recruit a Finance Assistant to cover a nine-month Maternity contract, working a four day week.Reporting to the UK Financial Controller you will be responsible for the smooth and successful running of the Accounts Payable function, including processing staff expenses and assisting in the preparation of the monthly management accounts and VAT returns.Key tasks include:

  • Posting supplier invoices and reconciling the supplier statements.
  • Reviewing and processing of staff expenses in line with company policy.
  • Credit card and Bank Reconciliations.
  • Maintaining fixed asset register and posting depreciation journals.
  • Maintaining prepayment schedule and Accruals.
  • Assisting with month-end and VAT return queries.
  • Preparation of payment runs in line with credit terms and company policy.
  • Managing petty cash.
  • This a is a nine-month contact covering maternity leave, working a four-day week. Some overtime is available initially in order to complete tasks that are backlogged due to the current climate.The successful Candidate will be reliable, trustworthy and level headed. You must have extensive experience of both Sage and Excel and be a proactive, detail minded character.Due to the Covid-19 restrictions, interviews will take place by video conference and the successful applicant will start remotely mid-June, to work from home initially.The salary on offer is £25,000 - £28,000 pro rata depending on experience.
