Job Description

Finance Assistant London, UK £32,000 - £38,000* (depending on experience) Permanent, Full time + Hybrid working Our client is an investment management firm regulated by the FCA which advises on a global, multi-asset class portfolio. The office is based in central London and comprises 40 people, including 8 finance professionals working across accounting and investmentreporting. They are looking for a Finance Assistant to join their team.Key Responsibilities

  • Accounts payable: controls and processes
  • Processing purchase invoices: entering and coding invoices (including VAT) in the Access system, managing the approval workflow (by cost centre budget holders)
  • Setting up weekly payment runs, expense pay runs and individual payments as required (UK and overseas via BACs, Faster Payments, CHAPS etc.) through UK and overseas bank accounts
  • Maintaining the aged purchase ledger ensuring invoices are accounted for on receipt and tracked through to payment
  • Supplier set-up: ensure appropriate supplier information is obtained
  • Reconciliation and recording of credit card statements Accounts receivable and recharges
  • Raising sales and recharge invoices on a monthly/quarterly basis Bank reconciliation process
  • Posting cash journals to record payments/receipts from bank statements into the ledger
  • Updating Weekly Cash flow model/forecasts Other GL maintenance/month-end processes
  • Posting standard journals across Prepayments, Accruals
  • Maintaining the Fixed Asset Register
  • Preparing and maintaining balance sheet reconciliations and other standard month end processes Support on year-end/other processes
  • Assist with year-end accounts preparation and audit process, annual budget process Support to Investment Accounting team
Requirements
  • Experience of Purchase Ledger and General Ledger management including month end processes
  • Understanding of VAT
  • Experience of bank and other balance sheet reconciliations
  • Supplier management
  • Proficiency in MS Office
  • Attention to detail
  • Good communication
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • No specific qualifications are required but relevant qualifications could include AAT or ACCA part qualification
  • The role supports ACCA training where appropriate
