Job Description

  • Location: London (Next to Borough Station) and some hybrid working
  • Permanent, Full time
  • 35 hours per week
ContextChildhood First enables children and young people to recover from early life abuse and relational trauma, to enjoy life and to achieve their potential. We do this through the provision of specialist therapeutic residential care and treatment, together withfamily and network support.PurposeThis is a key role within a friendly and proactive finance team supporting our crucial work with the children in our care. The key day to day focus is to ensure purchase ledger, other transactions and reconciliations are posted/completed in a timely andaccurate manner. You will also contribute to systems learning and development to help our service be the best it can be.To be successful you will need to be diligent, accurate and meet agreed deadlines. You will also need to proactively learn engage with the wider activities of the charity in understanding the relationship between the finance team and those directly providingour therapeutic services to the children and young people in our care.What you’ll bring to the role
  • Experience as a finance or accounts assistant or in a financial administration or accounts payable role using Sage 50 or similar.
  • A solid understanding of finance processes and procedures and great attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and be confident communicating with a range of stakeholders whether in person, over video calls or by email.
  • Good knowledge and experience of MS Office applications including Excel advanced features.
Task
  • Recording financial transactions on the accounting system in a timely and accurate way.
  • Posting and reconciling data on the purchase ledger.
  • Processing and reconciling petty cash, credit cards, prepay cards and the bank accounts.
  • Assisting the Finance Manager with the posting of investments and other monthly journals.
  • Administering and submitting the monthly pensions report.
  • Processing intercompany transactions in the subsidiaries.
