Job Description

The CSL Vifor Field Based Medical Advisor is an external-facing scientific expert on certain company product(s) and therapeutic area with the main responsibility of scientific engagement. This consists of the establishment and maintenance of ethical andhighly scientific peer to peer relationships with HCPs based on high-quality reactive response to medical inquiries as well as proactive engagement with relevant HCPs through meaningful scientific exchange.In this position you will be directly reporting to the Field Medical Affairs Lead.We are offering a flexible working model (#LI-Field-based).Main responsibilities

  • Acts as Field Medical affairs resource covering all field based activities in the North of England and Scotland traveling as required
  • Identifies, develops, and maintain relationships with relevant KOLs
  • Ensures that any unsolicited request for medical information from HCPs is provided in an unbiased and accurate manner
  • Understands the Business Unit strategy and provides scientific support to enable compliant delivery aligned with the medical plan
  • Works collaboratively and cross functionally with other teams while retaining functional independence
  • Collects and shares appropriate insights
  • Provides internal training to other teams ensuring internal dissemination of relevant scientific, clinical, and therapeutic updates
  • Collaborates with other medical colleagues and other teams to execute the medical plans in the field
  • Provides medical input to the development and review of ethical promotional materials and activities in conjunction with the local marketing department to ensure compliance with the ABPI Code of Practice
  • Produces medical non-promotional materials and activities
  • Represents the company at national and international scientific meetings
  • Maintains own medical and scientific knowledge
  • Adheres to all relevant Codes of Practice and ensures regular accreditation/ revalidation processes as required
Key Tasks
  • Medical support for tactics such as campaign/materials updates
  • Support for Investigator Initiated Studies
  • Support for evidence generation
  • Management of company sponsored Phase IV studies
  • Management of publication planning
  • Medical input into content development and outputs for symposia and workshops or where there is a genuine reason, advisory boards
  • Provides medical and scientific expertise for the UK organisation
  • Constantly develops knowledge and expertise in main therapeutic areas
  • Engagement with external experts and specialists as required to meet goals of the Medical Affairs Plan
  • Specific projects and responsibilities as needed by line manager
  • Medical support for the Medical Information and Drug Safety departments
Your ProfileThe knowledge and skills necessary to perform the duties of this position are typically acquired through the following combination of education, experience and knowledge, or the equivalent.Minimum Requirements
  • Medical doctor, pharmacist, or Ph.D. in a relevant life science
  • Previous clinical, academic or research experience
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with strong experience delivering scientific presentations
Preferred Requirements
  • Rare Disease therapy area experience
  • Existing relationships with relevant KOLs
  • Ability to act as technical reviewer
  • Experience in clinical trials such as management or investigator
  • Previous experience as Field Medical Advisor or MSL
  • Pre-launch experience
