Job Description

FE Teaching Assistant (ASD)LambethASAP StartAn Outstanding Special Needs college in Lambeth is recruiting several ASD teaching assistants to start ASAP. All positions are full time and will be for the remainder of the academic year.The school caters for 100 young adults aged 19-25 years old, with EHCPs for ASD and Aspergers Syndrome. As well as offering students an engaging curriculum, they also work hard to develop communication and social skills. The school is in a state-of-the-artbuilding, offering a wealth of resources to both students and pupils.There are opportunities throughout the college, however you must be prepared to work with all ranges. The shortlisted teaching assistants will have previous experience supporting children and young adults with SEN, ideally ASD and associated needs. Eachclass will have a maximum of 8 students, and you will work under the direction of the lead tutor, while also using your initiative. It is imperative you can use PECs and Makaton. You must be prepared to take part in personal care, although training will beprovided.The college are looking for enthusiastic and energetic team players, who are consistent and dedicated to the students and college.Key Skills:

  • Previous support work within a SEN college or other child related experience
  • Degree from a leading university
  • Strong behaviour management skills
  • One to one and small group work

  • Enthusiasm and friendly approach
