This role will provide you with lots of exposure to a wide range of interesting cases, working within a team of solicitors/ people with different interests and experiences to provide you with the opportunity to learn and also to mentor and manage others.What we are looking forThe candidate will be 3-7 years PQE, ideally coming from a highly regarded practice, with a background in using non-court options, and conducting litigation in a principled way. For the past 50 years, our team of experienced solicitors has been advising individuals and businesses on numerous legal issues.Established in 2011 established in 1971, following the amalgamation of three central London law firms).We aim to provide our clients with a service that is both professional and personal. All of our departments are located at in the Finchley area, making us the City specialists conveniently placed.The diverse range of clients we represent, and the fact that many of our referrals come from existing clients, indicates that we have gone some way to achieving these aims.We fully appreciate that our clients want matters dealt with quickly and efficiently, which is why we take pride in achieving the best possible outcome, swiftly.Our Family TeamThe team consists of {Partner & Head of Family), (Consultant) and (Associate)The team offers a full range of services including cohabitation and dispute resolution practices for which the firm is recognised nationally; complex financial remedies on divorce, dissolution and separation; children law; international family law including abduction; and high value nuptial and cohabitation agreementsThe Partner is renowned for having dedicated his career to improving protections for cohabiting couples through his practice, through his work with Resolution and through commentary in the media. He is particularly concerned about the impact that the law currently has on women, who tend to be the lower-earning partner and who tend to take on the bulk of caring duties within families. In recognition of his considerable depth of published work often highlighting the plight of unmarried couples, he received the prestigious Family Law Commentator of the Year Award in 2018.Their Consultant, runs a busy mediation practice. He has always been at the forefront of developments that try to make the divorce and separation process as dignified as possible and the least adversarial. A pioneer of modern mediation practice, he trained mediators and wrote the guide to good practice for the College that defined how Memorandum of Understanding and Open statements should be written, the template of which is still used today.The Associate, who qualified in November 2018, joined the team in September 2019. She has quickly demonstrated her technical skills, in particular focussing on private children and complex financial remedy disputes. Having trained collaboratively, she shares commitment to the use and promotion of alternative dispute resolution processes.The practice is widely known and well regarded, not just locally, but nationally and internationally for its long-standing association with campaigning for family law reform, and its commitment to minimise conflict on relationship breakdown through the promotion of family dispute solutions.
