About the roleA charity supporting families with young children facing challenges and hardships is hiring for a Family Coordinator to support a caseload of families in assessing their needs and risks. This is a part time role of 20 hours a week working on flexible days,and will be ongoing for at least 3 months. The role can be primarily remote but will involve one home visit a week to a family based in Lambeth, unless the familys circumstances require this to be remote instead.As the Family Coordinator, you will hold an average caseload of 6 families, and will conduct home visits to carry out assessments for the families needs and risks in order to match volunteers to them to provide specialist, targeted, and high quality supportto ensure that the families progress with their goals. You will also lead on the delivery of the charitys Domestic Violence and Abuse work, including managing and delivering the programme to support survivors of domestic abuse, providing training and supportto other coordinators, and providing effective management of the work of the volunteers.The post carries a high level of responsibility in ensuring that a high quality service is provided to families and volunteers, and in working closely with other professionals and services. You will have the following skills and experience:* Relevant professional training or experience, e.g. health visitor, teacher, social worker, child care, family support worker. An IDVA qualification is not essential but would be very valuable.* Experience of direct work with children and families from diverse backgrounds.* Experience of direct work supporting survivors of domestic abuse.* Understanding of the needs of families with children under five.* Knowledge of current legislation and policies relating to children and families.* Ability to engage effectively and sensitively with families.* Knowledge of and commitment to good safeguarding practice.* Ability to work well with outside agencies (public & voluntary sector) and the public.If this sounds like the role for you then we would be keen to hear from you.
