Job Description

An exciting opportunity to join the Creative Industries leadership team at Activate Learning, as a Faculty Manager with responsibility for driving forward the quality of our Media, Performing Arts and Art pathways at Banbury and Bicester College.We have an exciting opportunity for someone to join our established and successful team and to build on their previous accomplishments. The successful person will lead their team in the planning and delivery of an engaging, diverse and high-quality curriculum which inspires learners to progress academically and into industry to meet their ambitious career aims. They will focus on developing the skills, knowledge and attributes needed by our learners to make every one of them highly employable.The role includes a proportional teaching commitment within the faculty. Experience of teaching within one or more of the sector areas identified within the role would be desirable.What do you need to be successful in this roleYou will already be a highly effective, qualified teacher and will understand what makes effective learning. In your teaching, you will value the importance of developing and maintaining up-to-date subject knowledge and have a wider understanding of effective pedagogy. You will use this understanding to lead a team in creating the conditions for high quality teaching, learning and assessment and to role model high standards in your own teaching, learning and assessment.You will have experience of leading colleagues to develop their practice and to improve the student experience; this may have been gained through formal roles or relationships, but if not, we would still be keen to hear how you have led these changes with colleagues more informally. You will confidently have honest conversations with others, using appropriate coaching approaches.Continuous learning and development will be central to your approach as a teacher and leader and you will be passionate about your own and others development, sharing this curiosity and enthusiasm with your students and colleagues. Your outward looking approach will enable you to liaise with colleagues across our Group for the benefit of your peers, colleagues and students. You will have a commitment to high standards and expectations and will set and model these whilst supporting colleagues and students to surpass them.
