Job Description

Job purpose:We are seeking an individual to become a key member of the maintenance team responsible for delivering planned and reactive maintenance to a wide variety of fabric and limited engineering assets. Ensuring high levels of compliance as well as Health & Safety at all times. The post holder will have a proven track record working on High Profile commercial contracts, exhibiting proactive, flexible, can-do attitudeResponsibilities:As a fabric engineer your duties and responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to:

  • Inspect, maintain and repair floor, walls, ceilings and roofs
  • Inspect, maintain and repair freestanding and fitted furniture
  • Inspect, maintain and repair drainage and gully systems
  • Inspect, maintain and repair doors windows and associated furniture.
  • Inspect, maintain and repair Fire doors
  • Inspect, maintain and repair fire stopping
  • Painting, re-decorating and hanging of pictures/signed/notices
  • Repairing and replacing door handles, locks and associated equipment.
  • Key cutting
  • Assist engineering staff in a wide range of duties as required
  • General site services; to include, sweeping and tidying following completion of tasks
  • Carry out Ad-Hoc activities supporting the Company and Client team including Moves/Changes
  • Meticulously utilizing PDA device to manage task assignments and make reports
  • Knowledge skills and experience:
  • A Fabric Engineer qualified in least one of the following disciplines: Carpentry, Painting and Decorating, fire door maintenance.
  • Demonstrable experience in either carpentry, painting, plumbing or flooring in a construction, repair or maintenance environment.
  • Good knowledge of Fire Door maintenance and inspection techniques.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Good knowledge of Fire Door/compartmentation maintenance and inspection techniques.
  • FDIS Certified Fire Door Inspector
  • This role will require the individual to conduct a number of repetitive planned preventative maintenance tasks, utilize a PDA to manage and report the status jobs and undergo training as required. This job description is not exhaustive and the successful candidate will be expected to comply with other reasonable requests from their line management.
