Job Description

The London Clinic is one of the UK’s largest independently owned non-profit hospital, and we have been providing exceptional care since 1932. We have 8 premises, where we perform highly complex procedures as well as routine surgery & medicine.We have an exciting opportunity for an F Grade Junior Sister to join our Digestive Diseases Unit (DDU) and work across The London Clinic’s main hospital site in Central London, W1G 6BW.Our main hospital spans 8 floors comprising of 234 beds and 10 theatres, and The Duchess of Devonshire Wing is our award-winning cancer centre, which includes state-of-the-art radiotherapy, chemotherapy suites and 47 dedicated patient bedrooms for Oncology & Haematology patients.Job DescriptionTo assist the manager in ensuring the Department is efficiently and effectively managed at all time and be responsible for the delivery of the highest standards of care and services. This includes the appropriate assessment and evaluation of care in keeping with: The philosophies of the Clinic/Department; The NMC Code of Professional Conduct and the Scope of Professional Practice; The Clinic Policies and Protocols.This is a full time, permanent position working 37.5 hours per week (Days, Nights & Weekends)This position has a competitive inclusive salary, ranging between £42,071 - £48,432 per annum, depending upon experience.We offer a comprehensive package which includes a contribution pension scheme (total annual contribution up to 20%), Private Medical Healthcare, 25 day’s annual leave plus Bank Holidays, season ticket travel loan, and a wide range of discounts with a variety of retailers and services.   • To oversee and advise on individualised patient care, using the Roper Logan Tierney Model
  • To monitor legibility and accuracy of nursing documentation via Meditech
  • Ensure policies and guidelines are adhered to.
  • To act as an Intravenous Assessor.
  • To promote and safeguard the well being and interest of patients, relatives and colleagues.
  • To be familiar with all Clinic Policies and Procedures and to follow The Clinic disciplinary and grievance procedures if required

  • Skills & Experience
  • Registered Adult Nurse with up to date NMC registration
  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience as an E Grade within a Gastrointestinal Unit
  • Experience with Gastrointestinal/Colorectal patients desirable
  • Knowledge of clinical audits desirable
