Job Description

Are you an ambitious Newly Qualified ACA looking for a role that avoids the mundane cycles of statutory accounting and month end procedures Do you want to be challenged daily with new problems to break down, analyse, and ultimately solveThis London-based listed bank is looking to recruit a Newly-Qualified ACA to work in a team producing the external disclosure accounts, and is perfect for anyone who enjoys being challenged and thrown a curve-ball Youll work with the front-office salesteam, IT, and the wider finance team to ensure the smooth introduction of new products. This bank are specialist lenders, and they bring out some really interesting products for their customers; you get the opportunity to get really stuck in with these productsfrom the finance side to ensure they can be accounted for properly and in such a way that makes sense from an accounting perspective..Key responsibilities:

  • Preparation and analysis of financial statements and related disclosures on a semi-annual and annual basis to a high quality and standard to meet the needs of investors and AIM listing requirements
  • Monitor monthly reporting processes, consistently developing and streamlining them ensuring timely extraction of information
  • Keeping track of emerging disclosure matters
  • Manage both internal and external stakeholder relationships, including with front office sales team and I.T. to ensure smooth introduction of new products
  • Constantly assess the operational risks inherent in the business, considering changing economic, legal, and regulatory requirements
  • Key lead on researching and advising on ad-hoc technical accounting queries
  • As part of their finance transformation programme: analyse the accounting requirements of key transactions and defining business rules as part of automating and streamlining accounting processes; key team member designing, implementing and testing UK SOXcompliant controls over financial reporting
The successful candidate will be:
  • ACA qualified accountant
  • Experience of having audited financial statements of listed (FTSE/AIM) companies desirable
  • Experience of auditing internal controls over financial reporting (SOX) beneficial
  • IFRS15 knowledge/experience is highly advantageous
  • IFRS9 knowledge/experience is preferable but not essential
  • A strong communicator; someone who can comfortably work across the entire business, from front office sales to the back-office finance team
  • Someone with a real hunger to learn, roll their sleeves up and get dirty
  • An independent thinker with the confidence to challenge both new and existing ideas/processes
