Job Description

The role Sales and Marketing is a centralised support function and covers all aspects of professional services marketing, sales support and business development. The prime area of focus for the function is to support the development and implementationof the firms market strategy and in particular to deliver: Revenue growth Enhanced relationships and networks A distinctive brand experienceThis role will be line managed by an Event Manager in the team, reporting ultimately into the Head of Event Management.The role provides an opportunity to work across all lines of service and industries as well as to collaborate with a range of staff.Who were looking forPwC is looking for an experienced Events Executive to join the Events Management team within its internalSales and Marketing function. The Events Management team provides professional event management advice, planning and end to end support for PwCs client events and large scale Board level internal events. You will principally be responsible for planning anddelivering a range of client facing and internal business seminars and conferences, both virtually and in person. Currently a lot of events are held in a virtual environment and so you will be expected to have a thorough understanding and proven track recordof managing a range of virtual event platforms. We anticipate that some events will move to a hybrid environment in the near future. An in-depth knowledge of audience engagement and best practice within the virtual and hybrid event environment will be keyto ensuring that the correct platform is selected and our stakeholders are effectively managed through the various nuances of hosting both virtual and hybrid event. Additionally, as we transition back to in-person/live events you will need to also demonstratedetailed hands-on experience at each stage of managing in-person events. The role includes liaison with both internal and external clients to ensure that events are run appropriate to the objectives set and in line with the requirements of marketing leadership.Theteam is operating in an ever-changing environment and end-to-end event processes are constantly reviewed. You therefore need to be able to bring insight into events best practice, the client experience, future trends for the events industry and practical examplesof how these can be applied. You must have excellent organisational, influencing and communication skills in order to be credible and to be able to challenge stakeholders and support a highly successful events programme. The full range of event managementskills are required with proven experience of managing both large and medium scale events. Your base office will be Embankment Place, with the need to be on site at events - including internal office locations and external venues. Some travel may be involvedas well as irregular hours (early morning, late evening, and occasional weekend working).You will be responsible for: Ensuring that clear objectives are agreed for each event with the event sponsor. This will involve gaining an understanding of the campaignsand the strategic positioning of the event within the wider marketing mix for each campaign. Ensuring effective targeting of the event in liaison with the event sponsor, marketing and business development staff. Co-ordinating all elements of the event. Thisincludes sourcing and selecting venues and/or virtual event platforms, audio-visual services, other event services suppliers and speakers; ensuring all relevant contractual processes have been carried out; ensuring that all parties involved in the event arefully briefed; ensuring effective external communication; managing invitation mailings and delegate responses; ensuring effective internal communication and the briefing of internal staff before each event; organising event collateral Making recommendationsto stakeholders on third party suppliers, based on the campaign requirements and your knowledge of the events industry and PwCs preferred supplier policy. Coordinating events within agreed schedules, scope and budgets. Managing event rehearsals, includingadvice and guidance to speakers on presentation style and best practice. Attending events to ensure they run seamlessly and that attendees receive the best possible experience, including troubleshooting where issues arise and managing internal staff and 3rdparty suppliers during the event.Reporting on event feedback and attendance and completing ROI summaries after each event. Managing debriefing meetings with internal clients to review event effectiveness and record leads/opportunities and ROI, including makingrecommendations for future events.Developing and building relationships with key internal client groups.Managing and building effective relationships with external suppliers, including negotiating cost-effective/discounted rates.Advising internal clients onevents best practice, including provision of full costings, venue and format options and project management schedules.In addition you will be expected to contribute to team-wide operational initiatives including workstreams, team meetings. This may includeinput to new operational processes, systems, event specific training, sharing industry knowledge and helping to upskill colleagues.The following skills are required for this role:Graduate calibre with a minimum three years experience organising conferencesand seminars, both in a virtual and a live environment.A professional services or business to business background.An understanding of general marketing and business development principles is desirable.The ability to effectively plan and manage projects andprioritise conflicting deadlines and to deal effectively with changing requirements.A knowledge of current event technology platforms and their application to audience engagement, including an understanding of which platforms are best applied to differentevent scenarios.The ability to think broadly, influence and challenge internal stakeholders, as well as a willingness to be challenged.Diplomacy, pragmatism and political sensitivity are required in order to manage expectations, and deal effectively with thechallenges of supporting a mixed business partnership.Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise workload and handle several tasks at once within given deadlines.Demonstrate the ability to build relationships with clients, colleagues andsuppliers.Show a passion for client service.Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills will be required in order to develop and maintain strong internal and external relationships with key clients.Sound, confident judgement and proven problem solvingskills.Strong numeracy skills and proven ability to manage budgets, identify savings and provide value for money.Computer literacy including an understanding of data management, GDPR requirements and delegate registration processes.Not the role for youDidyou know PwC offer flex
