Job Description

Rates eTrading Application Support Engineer x2- 6 moths rolling - Central London - Hybrid 3-2 set up - INSIDE IR35 via umbrellaAkkodis are working in partnership with one of the world leading investment banks who are seeking 2 experienced Trade Floor Support Engineers with Rates and ideally eTrading experience to join their current EMEA Front Office Support team with focus on Rates.The EMEA Rates eTrading team is responsible for providing Front Office and server-side support to multiple eTrading applications used by the Rates line of business in London and Paris.Title: - Rates eTrading Application Support Engineer x 2Location: - Central LondonOffice/Home: - 3 days in and 2 days WFHDuration: - initially 6 months with potential 6 month extensions on offer.Daily rate: - £450-500 (potentially neg) - INSIDE IR35 via an Umbrella.The key responsibilities / deliverables are as follows (but not limited to):

  • First point of contact for end business users in Rates eTrading
  • Ownership and delivery of on-boarding support of or processes into the MAPS organization
  • Build and maintain strong partnerships with business stakeholders, application development personnel, and infrastructure contacts
  • Monitoring and alerting of critical trading system environments
  • Troubleshooting of complex systems issues
  • Proactive identification and resolution of problem hotspots
  • Development of tools and driving efficiency/stability improvements
  • Accurate tracking of support effort to enable effective management reporting
  • Release implementation and enforcement of change management policy
  • Major Incident management and Problem Management
Key RequirementsThe core set of technical skills that are beneficial in the role are:* Operating systems: Linux primarily* ITIL Certification or performed in a role that demonstrates application of the principles* Scripting languages: Unix Shell, Python* SQL (intermediate level: multi-table joins, grouping results, stored procedures)* Job scheduling (Autosys) & batch management* Well rounded understanding of infrastructure disciplines (network, server, storage, messaging)* Enterprise Monitoring - ITRS Geneos* Documentation (Confluence)* Experience with exchange connectivity - e.g. ION MarketView and the main ECNs (Bloomberg, Tradeweb, MTS, etc)* Familiarity with Bloomberg and ReutersCandidates must be resilient and confident working in a high-pressure FO trading environment.
