Job Description

The FIG Health & Social Services Department is looking for an Estates Engineer Electrical to join their Engineering team to undertake electrical reactive and planned maintenance on all LV electrical systems.The Engineering Section is an integral part of the Department of Health and Social Service based at King Edward Memorial Hospital, Stanley the service follows UK practices and standards.Estates Engineer ElectricalStanley, Falkland Islands

  • FTC up to 4 years
  • £26,997 to £36,117 (depending on qualifications and experience) plus an extra 25% gratuity
The RoleThe KEMH, although on a small scale, would be considered as an acute hospital in the UK to which our standards are based. maintenance, repairs and testing of the Hospital’s Plant and systems, low voltage systems and all alarm systems including Building MonitoringSystem (BMS) and smart lighting systems. This is not an exhaustive list, but is intended to encapsulate all disciplines within hospital engineering, including emerging technologies. The electrical maintenance services required cover a broad spectrum of disciplinesand the role includes maintaining a wide range of systems and equipment across the full suite of Hospital Engineering.The PersonYou should be a UK-qualified electrician with 2391 qualifications with a minimum of 5 years relevant work experience in a role of similar seniority/level/complexity following completion of recognised and registered apprenticeship or recognised equivalent.Experience of working to HTM06 would be an advantage.Core Requirements
  • Experience must include working to various HTM standards in a Healthcare setting.
  • Qualified to 2391 Electrical Testing.
  • Able to effectively diagnose and solve challenging mechanical/engineering issues covering the spectrum of hospital engineering.
  • Able to participate in the on call’ service which covers hospital out of hour’s plant/equipment emergencies, and required to support aero-medical evacuation services.
  • Ability to work well within, and lead, a small team
  • Able to fluently navigate mechanical and electrical control drawings.
The Package
  • Fixed Term Contract, up to 4 years.
  • Salary - This is a dual-graded role depending on qualifications and experience commencing from - £26,997 - £30,033 per annum within Grade E (Competent engineer - depending on qualifications and experience) rising to £33,435 to £36,117 per annum within Grade D2 (Senior engineer - depending on qualifications and experience) rising to £44,234for exception candidates
  • Eligibility for a 25% Gratuity (taxable).
