JobDescription ESG Manager - Stewardship & Sustainability, Policy and Disclosure. The Role: The purpose of this role is to support the Head of Policy & Disclosure in delivering the policy and disclosure components of the groups firm-wide environmental, social& governance "ESG" Programme and BAU. The position is within the Stewardship & Sustainability team within the asset manager (AM), but covers sustainability matters across the group spanning the asset owner (AO) and corporate (plc) functions. This is a permanentfull time position. Key Work Level Accountabilities: Experienced Colleague: Accountable for providing a quality service or product to stakeholders, using skills/experience built through significant practical experience or training Works within establishedframeworks and procedures, with the freedom to interpret them to solve a range of problems Delivers outputs that are clearly defined, using discretion over how to achieve them Makes suggestions for improvements to the work of the team, based on previous experienceand knowledge of similar situations Key Responsibilities for this role: Define and develop thematic investment policies. Define ESG disclosures necessary to meet the firms stakeholders expectations, regulatory requirements and optimise the firms ESG ratings.Preparation of the groups mandatory and voluntary sustainability disclosures for inclusion within the groups formal annual report and accounts, Sustainability Report, and website disclosures. Preparation of ESG content for external communications including:investors, customers, regulators and NGOs Preparation of ESG content for internal communications including: Board and colleague training. Develop and maintain databank of ESG content and messaging on ESG themes and issues, Monitor ESG and sustainability-relatedpolicy and regulatory developments applicable to our markets, determine implications for the group (plc, AO and AM), engaging with internal stakeholders to mobilise necessary actions, and external stakeholders to respond on behalf of the group. Undertake continualanalysis of peer companies and other corporates to assess benchmark ESG positioning and disclosures, whilst identifying best practice Liaise with all relevant internal functions and help co-ordinate responses to regulatory and other ESG developments and initiativesSupport M&G plcs relationships with relevant NGOs and sustainability institutions, external ESG data and ratings providers, preparing the groups submissions to key ESG rating and surveys (eg CSA, CDP etc) and review and manage ratings from providers (MSCI,ISS ESG etc) to ensure scores are appropriate. Key Knowledge, Skills & Experience: Technical knowledge of ESG issues particularly climate risk. Knowledge of policy and regulatory developments and disclosure requirements and best practice. Knowledge of financialservices and ideally life insurance and asset management sectors. Take proactive ownership and responsibility of issues and manage effectively through to resolution Excellent stakeholder skills - is able to effectively listen, communicate, challenge and influencecolleagues from multiple business areas Strong and effective communicator, able to present M&G plc capabilities to external data and ratings providers and use persuasion skills to optimise outcomes Organised and thorough in approach with high attention todetail and accuracy Demonstrates discretion and integrity in handling confidential and sensitive information.
