Job Description

Are you passionate about Sustainable Finance and researching environmental and social themes Do you have experience in thematic research (Climate, Natural Capital, Human Rights, Corporate Governance) and familiarity with regulations, frameworks and industryinitiatives on sustainability issues Do you want to influence financial business units (Asset management, Life Insurance and Wealth Management) to improve their climate alignment and impact on society The team The Central Sustainability office (CSO) Team of M&G PLC is a dedicated group who work closely with asset management, asset owner, corporate sustainability teams and fundamental analysts across the M&G PLC group and is responsible for global activities of thegroup. The team is located in London The Role : We are looking for thematic research analysts to: •Conduct research on social and environmental themes, frameworks, regulation and industry initiatives and their relevance across financial businesses •Support and lead environmental and social working groups across the group to implement sustainable strategy across business units to achieve sustainable outcomes for the group •Take the lead on scaling our thematic outcomes across the business units by collaborating with multi-stakeholder teams in research, product development and reporting channels •Manage relationships with collaborative industry initiatives, NGOs, Think Tanks and coordinate collaborative engagements on environmental and social themes at corporate and advocacy level •Create content/ materials to showcase Thought leadership on specific topics as well as evidence outcomes for stakeholders and reporting This role reports to the Head of Sustainable Strategy within the Central Sustainability Office Role Requirements •A minimum of 5 + years of experience in sustainable research with background and experience in thematic research linked to sustainability •Strong knowledge of ESG issues in general and capacity to engage on environmental and social topics •Interest in analysing how ESG issues and themes affect business models and using this analysis with stakeholders across the group to encourage stronger sustainable practices •Ability to effectively communicate on activities and outcomes on material ESG issues and themes •Experience in establishing and maintaining effective relationships for successful collaboration with internal teams •Outcomes driven approach with the credibility to deal with stakeholders on contentious matters •Flexible, responsive and self-starter •Degree educated (academic qualification in a sustainable discipline is a plus) Work Level: Manager / Expert Close Date: 15th December 2023 We have a diverse workforce and an inclusive culture at M&G plc, underpinned by our policies and our employee-led networks who provide networking opportunities, advice and support for the diverse communities our colleagues represent.
