Job Description

If you have an environmental background, project management skills, and are enthusiastic about environmental and sustainability topics, then this could be the role for you!You will work within the Environment & Sustainability Unit, reporting to the Environment & Sustainability Manager. In this role, you will give environmental and sustainability support for their Offshore Wind project, working closely on the project with otherEnvironment and Sustainability Specialists.You will support our windfarm to be constructed in accordance with legal, permit and environmental requirements, and strive for operational excellence. You will co-ordinate with interdisciplinary teams and other Environment and Sustainability Specialists workingin the UK and our other key markets, and deliver a structured and systematic approach to taking environmental and sustainability aspects into account.Main tasks and responsibilities:Managing Environmental Compliance

  • Review and approve contractor management and performance documentation;
  • Monitor and audit contractors to environmental standards and guidance at site level;
  • Support windfarm teams in environmental management in planning, execution and reporting
  • Support the consenting teams with environmental impact assessments and site compliance support
  • Report and evaluate all environmental events in an appropriate timescale and undertake environmental incident response, management and investigations if necessary or required; and
  • Report and engage with authorities as required.
Performance and improvement
  • Perform and conduct environmental drills;
  • Provide toolbox talks to contractors on a frequent basis regarding key environmental topics;
  • Perform environmental input in contracting and due diligence;
  • Manage and further develop systematic ways of working with environmental topics; and
  • Coordination and assisting in the overall Environmental strategy.
Working as a team
  • Work in close cooperation with the specific Consenting & Health & Safety specialist and interdisciplinary site teams;
  • Work together with other specialists inside and outside your own work area such as technical disciplines and environmental consultants; and
  • Work in close cooperation with our internal Bioscience experts
As an Environment and Sustainability Specialist you will be knowledgeable and enthusiastic about environmental and sustainability topics. You will have organisational, analytical and time management skills.Your qualifications and personal skills:
  • Degree in a relevant discipline such as Environmental Management, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science;
  • Relevant work experience in offshore construction and/or operational control;
  • Knowledge and understanding of the renewables/wind industry;
  • Familiarity with environmental management systems;
  • Understanding of UK licencing/permitting & consenting regimes and knowledge of the UK Legislation and Guidelines related to environment;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. You are fluent in English (written and spoken) and are a UK resident;
  • Willingness to travel and have a full UK/EU driving license.
The location of this position is London, in the UK, with consideration given to flexible working arrangements. Regular business trips are required to project and site locations in the UK, in addition to occasional trips to our core markets in which we operate.
