Job Description

Enterprise Risk Analyst£38,000 - £42,000 + 15% Non-Con Pension + Bonus + Benefits Central London - 3-day week in office - hybrid modelTHE COMPANYGrowing London operation of international banking group with global assets $50billion. The business comprises private banking, commercial and wholesale banking together with retail activities. They have a truly international culture and very cosmopolitanas well as collegiate culture.SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Either a graduate in relevant subjects or someone with a maximun experience of up to 1 year in a similar role (or an internship) AND
  • Strong academics - University degree (minimum UK 2:1 or equivalent - Masters level qualifications preferred) in a quantitative discipline (e.g., mathematics, accounting, economics, computer science, engineering etc.); AND
  • General knowledge of risk in banking AND
  • Strong communication skills and enthusiasm AND
  • Commitment to pursue a career within risk AND
  • Strong analytical skills AND
  • MS Office suite, including Excel, Access, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge and experience in programming language is highly desirable.
THE ROLEThis is a new role due to promotion and you will report to the Enterprise Treasury Risk Lead within the Risk Department which has 4 staff. The Risk department has 18 staff split into Operational, Enterprise, Credit and Analytics Risk. Supporting theRisk team and delivering on Business Strategy by supporting the provision of a robust 2LOD (oversight, review, and challenge). The position is responsible for building, maintaining and ongoing improvement of the risk practices and reporting of the Bank. Thekey focus is on financial risk, as well as using skills and expertise to support the development of risk analysis and models. Your responsibilities include:
  • Supporting the embedding of the banks risk management framework into its business operations and processes.
  • Enhancing the controls environment/practices (preventative and detective controls).
  • To raise concerns about practices, behaviours, and possible breaches of risk limits, policies, and guidelines to the Enterprise Risk Lead and to CRO.
  • Provide forecasts and unique insights to support business and risk decision-making.
  • Building mathematical models and analysis on different areas of risk.
  • Providing oversight and validation of risk related models, spreadsheets/macros, etc. (e.g., Funds Transfer Pricing, cash flow forecasting and liquidity models);
  • Increase process efficiency through process automation and use of programming languages.
  • Assist in improving the quality, timeliness, and accuracy of risk-related MI, which supports strategic decision-making and risk management practices.
  • Supporting with the production and delivery of risk-related reports for internal and external stakeholders (including the Board, Credit Risk Committee, Credit Approval Committee, ALCO, regulators, credit rating agencies).
  • Working collaboratively with other areas of the Bank to support revenue-generating initiatives within the Banks risk appetite (including providing 2nd line monitoring and oversight of risk management practices and providing the business with a view asto good practice).
  • Assist on producing key regulatory documents, including the ILAAP, ICAAP, Recovery Plan and RAS.
  • Provide new analytics, tools and insights as and when the demand arises for them. This includes demand from Risk, Business Units and Financial Control.
  • Updating the department on domestic and international developments and events that could impact risk related practices (e.g., Banking Committee of Banking Supervision good practice guidelines, etc.) and raising awareness and act on the knowledge.
