Our global sector teams include Energy Infrastructure and Industrials, Consumer & Retail, FIG, Healthcare, Business Services, Media and Technology, and Financial Sponsors.The Energy Infrastructure and Industrials ("EII") team is one of the leading and largest sector teams at Nomura with a strong track record and significant transaction pipeline. We work closely with other teams to deliver the full suite of Nomuras products and services to our clients who primarily include governments, corporates, infrastructure investors and financial sponsors.Following the acquisition of Greentech Capital Advisors, a leader in low carbon infrastructure M&A, Nomura has further strengthen its capabilities in the sustainable finance space which was recently externally recognised when Nomura was selected as Investment Bank of the Year for Sustainable Corporate Finance in 2020 by "The Banker".The EII team covers the Power and Utilities, Transport Infrastructure, Telecommunications, Industrials and Chemicals sectors.Key objectives critical to success:- Typical work includes a mix of execution and client coverage including: financial analysis, financial due diligence, process management and client deal team interaction- Required to co-ordinate and work with all other product, geography and industry teams, including: M&A, Leverage Finance and Debt Capital Markets- Opportunity to work on a range of transaction types including: sell-side M&A, buy-side M&A, equity raising and leveraged buyouts- Broad engagement across teams / groups, for example: M&A, Leverage Financed, Financial Sponsors, DCM, Structured and Risk Solutions (e.g., IR or FX derivatives). - Involvement in broad range of deals, for example: sell-side, buy-side, financings, PE funds and SWFs.Skills, experience, qualifications and knowledge required:Essential:- A proven background in Corporate Finance from either a bank/ boutique advisory firm or the Corporate Finance, Modelling and Valuation, Transaction Services groups of a large accounting firm.- Previous experience in covering relevant sectors such as Power and Utilities, Transport Infrastructure, Telecommunications, Industrials and Chemicals (not a pre-requisite at Analyst-level)- Excellent financial modelling experience (e.g. operating models, merger models, LBO)- Experience in buy-side and sell-side M&A- Project management: ability to manage teams to deliver to client needs- Strong communications skills: ability to interact confidently with banking professionals and clients- Outstanding analytical skills, including ability to perform data analysis- Team work: experience of working in a project based environment with tight deadlines - Strong academic recordDesirable:• Fluency in a European languageNomura competenciesTrusted Partner• Understand clients needs and issues, and respond with high-quality proposals • Acquire capabilities to perform ones responsibilities and contribute to being a Trusted Partner Entrepreneurial leadership • Produce new ideas that might challenge the status-quo or oneselfTeamwork Collaboration• Seek advice from senior colleagues and utilize it for improved results • Collaborate with members from relevant departments Influence• Contribute to the success of the organization both quantitatively and qualitatively, and act with awareness of the impact on others• Serve as role model and provide guidance to junior employeesIntegrity • Have a good understanding of corporate philosophy, professional ethics, compliance, risk management, and code of conduct, and make decisions and take actions accordinglyRight to WorkThe UK Government have taken steps to reduce net migration to the UK by limiting the number of overseas workers from outside the EEA coming to the UK for employment.
